Recipe for Iced Tea Syrup

Recipe for Iced tea Syrup ...Vickie's Kitchen and Garden

We love iced tea around here.   It doesn't matter the season my daughter and I each can drink almost a gallon a day.  I know what you thinking and my mother would say, "your made out of tea."

I started to run into problems when one of us need decaf and there wasn't enough room in the refrigerator for all that tea.   Frankly, I was tired of making it too every morning.  So this was my solution and I can skip a morning making iced tea!

How to make Ice Tea Syrup (recipe at the bottom)

Start by boiling 2 large family sized or 5 regular size tea bags regular size tea bags in 2 quarts of boiling water.   Once it comes to a full boil -boil for at least 2 or 3 minutes.

Pour half of the tea in quart sized jar.  It's best to have your sweetener in the jar first.  I also like to do this in the sink...no spills!

Then pour more water in the pan.

Add enough water to fill a gallon sized pitcher.

Store your syrup in the refrigerator for later use.   When you get ready to use your syrup just add enough water to fill the pitcher.

2 large family sized or 5 regular size tea bags
2 quarts of water
sweetener or not

Put the tea bags in the pan of water and boil for 2 to 3 minutes.   Add sweetener to your jar first then pour half of mixture into a quart sized jar (for no spills -do this in the sink).  Store in the refrigerator. Use the other half to make enough iced tea for now that will fill a gallon sized pitcher.

When you get ready to make the tea from the syrup just add more water to fill your pitcher.  You can also making this stronger if you like just add a few more tea bags.

Enjoy!
