We had our taxes done at the local senior citizens place with AARP. We have done this for a few years and love it. It's free and they are very knowledgeable. I'm glad that's all filed away and over with.
I bought 7 packages of Dearborn beef franks 16oz hot dogs for $4.34 each and froze them for summer grilling from Flashfood. When we have the grandkids over hot dogs go fast! I also bought 5 -1 lb packages of ground beef for $4.50 each.
While we were at Meijer's I picked up a large scarf for someone for Christmas on clearance for $2.00. Husband also picked up a winter vest for $3.00. No telling how much this stuff will cost come this next winter.
The wind was quite strong this past week and blew down a big tree down the block, on to the corner of a house. Doesn't look too bad but of course that's never good.
I was so glad for the quiet again when the wind stopped. I believe it also blew in allergens because all three of us have been battling sinus issues since it came.
Taking a lead from Annabel from The Bluebirds are Nesting on the Farm I decided to let the parents give the candy for Easter and I bought them things they needed. The pretty girl needed wanted new pjs, crocs, and she also wanted socks like me (they are very soft). The tall boy will get shoes and maybe some money for his games. I will still give them some candy but not too much.
Pretty girl stayed overnight with us (she wakes up pretty) ...She wanted pancakes with fruit. I happened to be out early and bought the pancakes at McDonald's. She never knew, she just thought I could make perfect pancakes.
One day I'll show you tall boy...oh my he has grown. He is coming over to clean the coop for me this weekend. I'll also have him help me move the compost bins out of the flood plain and up by the garage. It will help a lot when we clean the coop and put other compost in there. Right now it's very hard to walk back there. Not sure why I never did this before.

Oh my goodness your granddaughter is so grown up and pretty! We have had crazy wind as well and at times it sounded like the hurricane again which I will never forget the terror and sound of that! It is crazy that $4.50 a pound for ground beef is a good deal these days. I'm starting to feel like all we eat is cheaper chicken now.
Thankyou she has grown up a lot ...I miss when they were young. It was just a few months ago Lana when we were shocked at $4.50 a pound now that's not too bad. Have a great weekend.
Wow, your pretty girl has grown up! Glad she enjoys spending time at Grandma's house, what fun times.
I'm curious about the seed rolls, so I'll look forward to your review.
Great deals on the hot dogs. I bought some wagyu beef t at Aldi for $5/lb to try. Everything seems to be going up even more.
Happy Spring and hope you have a great weekend.
We had the crazy winds as well last weekend. Goodness they were something. It has been kind of quiet this week, which is perfect for me.
Your granddaughter is beautiful. Vickie. Her bowl of fruit looks delicious and that is so neat about the McDs pancakes, they do make very tasty pancakes. You got a great deal on the all beef hotdogs and ground beef. You're right, no telling what the price will be on some of those items later in the year. I like reading Annabel from The Bluebirds are Nesting on the Farm too, she has some great ideas.
I'm so glad that wind is gone too...my brain needed some quiet lol. Not much going on here either ...I'm like you Cheryl perfect!
Belinda, Husband says we are too full for all these deals but the ham and turkey will be gone at Easter so there will be enough room in the freezer. Annabel has good common sense ideas that I love too.
This has been a crazy week! Our son in law went to ER on Sunday night during a horrible thunderstorm and ended up having gallstone removed surgically on Wednesday. On Monday through Wednesday, Hubs and I got up each morning at 4 AM to travel up to their home almost an hour away to make sure the 3 GKs got ready for school. Didn’t get back home until after 9:30 each morning. But, in the meantime- Flashfood!! Tuesday I got 19 pound cartons of strawberries for 49 cents/pound. The final half of them will be done in the dehydrator in an hour. I will have filled 2 half gallon jars with them! Then today I found family packs (4-1/2 to 5 pounds each) of boneless chicken breast for a flat $3.50. The meat manager, at that particular Meijers, will mark down all of a specific cut/type of meat the same price regardless of differing weights if there are several of them! I bought 12. Several of them were a bit over 5 pounds! I immediately texted my daughter and 3 friends with young families or teenagers and offered them some! They were over the moon and I have 3 packages that I will cut into chunks and pressure can since we use those quite often.
Vickie- were you as happy as I was to learn that Meijers now gives mperk reward points for Flashfood that you by at their stores? Yay!!
Gardenpat you guys are the grandparents we always strive to be! I love Flashfood too and I'm glad for the mperks-really helps with the gas. Especially now that it's reached $4.00 or more here. Hope your son-in-law is on the mend.
