I’m glad your dh is there to help you fix these things. No mishaps here other than the downed tree. Seriously though I was worried as an ex nurse.

I took him straight to the doctor and they did an ECG, blood tests etc. Next day I get a call from our doctor saying she wants DH in hospital and not to drive him but call the ambulance which after packing a hospital bag we did saying his blood tests were worrying. They did further blood tests on him and said I could pick him up and bring him home as they had confirmed he had not had a heart attack. But on the way home I get a phone call from a private cardiologists office saying our doctor had made an appointment and to be there as they had a space to see him the next morning.

More tests ensued and we got a diagnosis two days before Christmas that he has chronic Q Fever that had not gone away after two courses of strong antibiotics and he had dilated cardiomyopathy. After two days of tablets his heart was running at 30% which is a positive sign up from 25% before of the normal persons 50 - 60% capacity and he is on more strong antibiotics for the Q Fever.

Good news is the heart condition can be treated with tablets and the Q Fever with more strong antibiotics over an extended period. The cardiomyopathy will never go away but with the tablets he can be treated and the condition manageable over a lifetime. Apparently this is a genetic condition likely within his family and had been as the cardiologist said brewing for some time.

Apart from that adventure our electric knife stopped working which had to be replaced which to us was minor.

Note to any person reading this is that if you have any chest pain or shortness of breath go straight to your doctor.

Lorna.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5623860601773162733.post-43010326440214604092021-12-28T21:43:48.281-05:002021-12-28T21:43:48.281-05:00Answers to prayers are perfect! I'm glad your Hubby could fix it easily! I woke up the Monday morning before Christmas at 3:30 AM because I heard the walk door on the garage bang shut. Scared me silly! Hubby got up and checked and no one was out there and the door was shut and locked. Hmmmm....then to morning when Hubbly went out and found a huge limb had fallen from the tree next to the driveway and put a huge dent in the top of the van and had crashed into the garage door. This is the second time this has happened and that tree has grown roots into our well and caused us to have to have it relined this year. I said that tree is going! Called our tree guy and got a $2200 estimate to take it down. It was huge and near the house so not surprised. The tree came down on Thursday and our visiting four year old grandson was happy to watch from the upstairs windows. So $500 deductible to fix the van and $2200 for the tree. Expensive week. I am thankful we have an emergency fund! Our son took the grandson out the next morning and counted the rings on the stump. He said it was at least 95 years old. Tree guy said all the limbs were either rotten or hollow inside so we made the right call. Van goes to the body shop next week and hopefully they will be able to get the parts. If it's not one thing then it is another!Lanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09380649410508372279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5623860601773162733.post-78904437751383309752021-12-28T09:38:48.337-05:002021-12-28T09:38:48.337-05:00I'm so glad there are no disasters there but y...I'm so glad there are no disasters there but you sure are an angel helping everyone like that.
