What I stocked up on this week:

No photo description available.

I decided on Saturday's that I will post what I stocked up on this past week.  It may be food, toiletries, or even garden produce.  So here is my first installment:

Going for a ride the husband he had to stop at the Family Dollar in a small town we were going through.  So I sighed and put on my mask.  You know, going to the store is just not as fun as it used to be.  Luckily, not a soul was in their except a older gentlemen (who by the way was not wearing a mask) so I just made sure to stay far away from him.  I did take  this chance to shop around a bit as fast as I could.  I found this soap in the clearance isle.  It's was $1.41 for 3 bars (regular price is $4.75)  so I bought what was left on the shelf (4).   I consider it a great deal and will put it back for winter time use.

I encourage you to start a stocking your pantry when you find a deal on something that is used often in your household.

That Caress will come in handy when the dry winter weather returns. My legs can never get enough moisture.

I 100% agree that shopping is not much fun anymore and stocking up is a good idea.
How many crazy and bad things are going to happen in 2020?

I'm ready to forget this year Rhonda as soon as I can! It's been just a little wild!

That's so true, Debbie. We like to use a heavier soap in the summer so I now I'm getting ready for next fall.

I agree with you Vickie that going to the store is just not as fun as it used to be. We are really sad about not being able to go to yard sales or thrift stores right now. What a great deal you found on the soap. I suspect that there are a lot of items on clearance or markdown right now and people are not buying them because they are not shopping like they used to shop.

We stocked up on pink salt at Dollar Tree. I was so glad to find it since it is the only salt we use.

Oh Belinda we were just talking about garage sales and how much we miss them! I guess I need to stock up even more on household goods.
Your right maybe that's why I was able to get a deal.

Great deal on the soap. Something we always need, and it keeps forever. I haven't been able to find deals since I haven't been going in the stores, but hopefully I can add a little at a time.
Hope you have a great weekend.

I've always been one for keeping stocked up on things, when I've found a good deal. One thing, though, that I haven't stuck with after my husband passed away is freezer cooking. So, I've started back into that in a small way. Today I cooked up some ground beef and made 8 individual portions of taco seasoned meat for taco salad. I bagged 6 of those up and put them in the freezer. I used one today and the other one is in the refrigerator for tomorrow. I really like taco salad and can easily eat it once a week.

It will be just our regular groceries trips every two weeks now so I'm hopeful I'll find thing to stock up on. I'll be looking carefully. I don't blame you at all for staying home. Stay safe Kathy.

Who only know's what ahead of us in 2020. I for one am still worried over what's to come. I've made up my mind I'm going to continue my regular stock but up it to adding another $20.00 each week to make sure we will be ok if we can't get out.I am also figuring out ways to cook the food if need be. Right now we have a charcoal grill but I would like a gas one also and to have enough supplies to run both. I hate feeling this way, but I see a lot of people not wearing masks because it's against there freedom rights. Well I think it is a simple enough to wear a mask and stop spreading this virus. I have had a kidney transplant 13 years ago so I take anti-rejection meds which it lowers my immune system. I will keep wearing a mask until there have been no more cases for 3 months. Nice selection of books Vickie, thank you.

I feel exactly the same tealady. Your very smart about the mask wearing and stocking up more! Enjoy your reading!

Vickie you did really well on getting all that soap and yes you will find specials now that people aren't shopping as much as most families unfortunately have less money to spend (due to job losses/reduced work hours) and are wary of going out too.

The things we stocked up on in the last month were -

- Tear off notepads.
- Some packets of pens on special.
- I bought 3 pairs of sandals for $3 pr reduced from $19 & $25.
- Clothing being skirts, pants, kaftan tops and wool socks all on really good sale prices at mostly $3 & $5 and up.
- Burrito kits on half price specials.
- Blocks of chocolate on near half price specials.
- Topped up on toothpaste on special for me to replace what we used.
- Chicken drumsticks on special for $1.83 kg and whole chickens at $2.70 kg.
- Markdown bakery wholemeal bread rolls and loaves of bread.
- Chain bar oil bought in a bulk 20lt container saving near on $50 over buying it in smaller quantities.

Have a great week ahead everyone :).

I love all your stocking up Lorna -especially beyond food. We need to think outside of the box and buy other things we need as well. Great savings!
