Yet though look how great you are doing according to the charts. Realising too that I hadn't added anything more to our stockpile except a couple of things.

I think when you have tried your best and you realise the price rises and inflation are beating you and you aren't getting what you need to buy for the household it is time to raise the grocery budget.

On that note here is what we picked up on special since the last time I posted and I was on a cheap meat hunt to fill the freezer back up -

- 4.34 kg rump steak usually $23 kg for $8 kg at a little country supermarket.
- 2.5 kg of rindless short cut bacon usually $9 kg for $8 kg.

Total saving of $67.60 on usual prices.

I can now relax a bit more and get what we need without having to worry too.

For my reference, thinking I was doing badly on our grocery spend, I looked up what the average family of 2 adults in Australia spends per week on average is $239 per week :o for food and beverages (this is in 2016 according to a government statistics).

I am now doing happy dances and realising I was doing a good job and was able to top up our pantry also on our new $300 a month budget :).

Have a wonderful week ahead everyone and hope you all find lots of bargains for your household.

sewingcreations15 (Lorna).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11645978386606681617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5623860601773162733.post-66137913429113192792019-03-30T17:55:59.843-04:002019-03-30T17:55:59.843-04:00I was just going to ask that- so there is a Lowe&#...I was just going to ask that- so there is a Lowe's grocery and and Home improvement. Believe it or not our Lowe's Home Improvement just closed a couple of months ago. I think there was too much competition across the street for our area. Wish we had a Lowe's grocery sounds great! I eat twice as much chicken as I do pork or beef. I will be glad when farmers markets are open here. The squash was $1.78 a pound and look terrible. Hubby and I visited the store today and found some good deals on salad dressing. Lowes is a big store with lots to explore. Now, I just have to make sure I send hubby to the correct place when he goes shopping. We have Lowes grocery and Lowes Home Improvement. haha! I have heard of people doing that too so I guess our food budget isn't too bad.
Yes sometimes it's just not worth chasing deals unless it's a real great price that's for sure. A friend spent $1800 a month on food when her 3 girls were still at home. I couldn't even think of how I could have spent that much in a month.

We really did not shop this week. Ads were 2 deals here and 4 deals there and I decided to just skip it. All we needed was milk and coffee creamer so Hubby picked that up at Walmart and I was not tempted to buy anything else. We got a $20 payout from iBotta so we ended up with a net gain of $15.51 this week for the food budget. I have $189 to roll over to next month but I have some bigger food expenses coming up in April so that is a good thing.Lanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09380649410508372279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5623860601773162733.post-67004690300554255732019-03-30T10:42:10.316-04:002019-03-30T10:42:10.316-04:00I have liked my no spend months in the past - but ...I have liked my no spend months in the past - but really don't set a budget. I know what I can spend and just buy what I want and d=need to keep that pantry going.
That is a great deal on peanut butter for sure.

Sometimes if I get those coupons on things I won't use - I either get for the donation box or I rip them off and leave them in the store for someone else to use.
Good shopping!Cheryl Kimbleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06485771676254429681noreply@blogger.com
