Then there was a Tornado .....

Thinking back we should have known something would happen when we had such unusual Spring like weather.  We had a couple of days around 70 degrees.  Then we had a wild night on Tuesday with tornado sirens blasting off around 2 a.m.  Husband had heard a loud wind noise before the sirens went off.  Two tornadoes hit one tornado was around 10 miles from us.  A tornado in Febuary in Michigan is just unbelievable!  No one was hurt thank God but there was damage to a lot of homes and businesses.  We had snow flurries the next day when we dropped 50 degrees.

School was out and I kept the grand daughter a little busy find art crafts on youtube.  She showed me how to make eyes so I wouldn't have to use the googly eyes.  The little ones will show the way!

Grandchildren came first this week and many things didn't get done.  They are worth every moment and are most important things in our life at this moment.

Now to clean the house!

  1. Oh wow, I'm so glad you are ok! How scary!! Your grand daughter made a cute bunny, and I loved how she taught you to make eyes. :)

A few years ago, we were eating supper when all our phones went off about a tornado in our area. We went downstairs to the basement and turned on the tv, and the weatherman was there talking about a rotation with a map showing our street. I texted my brother a screenshot of the weather map showing our street, and they were praying for safety. Thankfully it didn't touch down over us, but it did touch down on a barn about half a mile away. Usually we don't have tornadoes very often since we live in the mountains.

  2. Kathy, I thought the mountains were safe from tornados too...I'm glad everything was alright that day! These two tornadoes in Michigan were the first in Febuary. I hope it doesn't start something new for us.
    Have a great weekend!

  3. OH my gosh, Vickie! How terrible on the tornadoes in Michigan. I hope it doesn't start something new for you all too.

I'm with you on the grandchildren too, kids before cleaning the house. :)

  4. Glad you were safe. The nasty stuff hit all around me - my area got lucky. Spring is a volatile time of the year.

  6. Cheryl, it did spread wide that's for sure. We are not used to such a early spring!

  8. Vickie-glad you are all ok. Spending time with the grandchildren so important! It's been a strange week in Northern Wisconsin too. 60 degrees one day, then snow and down to 6 next night. Hardly any snow this winter. I worry about that for spring.

  10. We are getting near 70 again this by Monday or Tuesday I think. It's about as weird as can get. No snow here either Nancy...even in the U.P. they are complaining. That is part of their income for sure. I hope everything gets back to normal next year.
