Cabrini was canonized in 1946 by Pope Pius XII and became the first American citizen to be named a saint. Four years later she was given the title of Patroness of Immigrants.
My Review:
My first thoughts of Cabrini was how strong and brave she was despite her illness. She worked hard to find a way to help children and she put her heart and soul into every assignment she was given. She found a way and the strength to carry it out.
This movie took me through a lot of emotions and at times I found myself crying pitifully but other times I found myself wanting to shout yes, take that archibishop, ha ha mayor. Cabrini was a force to be reckoned with.
Unfortunately, I learned some language I didn't know in this movie and had to look up some names people called Italian immigrants during those times.
My favorite sayings from Cabrini: put your armour on, men cannot do what a woman can do, and my favorite of all; what kind of world do we want and what will we do to achieve it.
A true wonderful inspiring movie that you will always remember!

ReplyDeleteYes, I cried watching The Color Purple when the original came out. I was about 10 years old. The ending when the sisters reunited always gets me.
