The Amish Clockmaker (The Men of Lancaster County Book 3)
Matthew Zook, newly married, is left in charge by his grandfather of the family's tack and feed store. He believes he can make the business better if he offer his customers more. He is excited to get started breaking ground for the expansion and thankful they have plenty of land to help make the business grow. That is until the hotel in back of them brings up property rights to the acre of land they would like to expand on..
Clayton Raber, an amish clockmaker, is the man that Matthew needs to find in order to help solve the property issue. They purchased the land along with the building where Clayton and his Dad used to run a Clock store from Clayton's Mother. Finding out that she has since passed away the only hope they have is in finding Clayton.
Mathew's big hurdle is that no one seems to know where Clayton is or maybe they don't want to tell. The story goes that long ago Clayton was accused of killing his wife but was found innocent by the law not by his own people. Feeling as though people would never believe him and give him a chance, he decides it's time to leave both the church and Lancaster County.

My thoughts:
This book was so very different than any other Amish book I've read and I loved it. Taken from the man's point of view I was taken back at first by the many details. Something kept me reading a little more, until I finally became engrossed and couldn't stop turning the pages fast enough. The quest to find the truth, the complete forgiveness, and the love displayed by others was so heart touching.
Mathew became my favorite character in this book as he always believed and never gave up. He reminds us all to have a open and forgiving heart.
It made me want to remember to always give a person another chance. To listen for the details and to press on.
A great Christian book with both suspense and romance!
