Garden Update 8/26/15~ My Biggest Cabbage Yet!

Garden Update 8/26/15 Vickie's Kitchen and Garden www.vickieskitchenandgarden.blogspot.com

We pulled out our biggest cabbage out of the garden so far this year last night.   It was just a little bit over a whooping 10 lbs!  Like a bowling ball!

Can you guess how many quarts of sauerkraut I made out of this one cabbage?

12 pretty quarts all in a row!  Today I'll be canning the other 8 pounder that you see beside it!

We definitely got happy this spring and over planted cabbage.   Neighbors and friends have gratefully taken four heads of cabbage off our hands.

Our mustard greens are looking so pretty.   The cool wet weather we have been having really helps them grow.

While I was out there I picked some tomatoes.    I see more canned salsa in the next few days!

How's your garden growing?
