Chocolate Gravy Recipe- Trim Healthy Mama

Growing up in a family from the South, Chocolate Gravy was a staple in our diet at least once a week.   It was our Saturday morning breakfast.   While other kids were begging for waffles, we were begging for Chocolate Gravy!

It must have been the cold weather moving in that got me thinking about it again.  So when we received 17 inches of snow yesterday I made my version of Chocolate gravy Trim Healthy Mama style..

Chocolate Gravy
 Printable Recipe

3/4 cup Truvia
1/4 cup oat flour
1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter

Mix all dry ingredients in an iron skillet, then mix in the water.   Stir over medium heat until thick.  Remove from heat and then add vanilla and 1 tbsp. of butter.  Pour over Ezekiel bread or a low carb bread.

Update 2019:  I recently tried making this recipe with just half of the Truvia and it was great!  I also used just 1 cup of water.  You can certainly try it both ways and see which one you like best.

1/2 cup of Truvia
1/4 cup oat flour
1/4 cup of cocoa
1 cup of water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. Butter

Directions same as above.

THM Notes:  This is an E meal over an E biscuit or bread (like Ezekiel bread).
