Gardening season has begun here in Michigan. Now, I'm funny about this because I usually wait till exactly Memorial Weekend and not a day before. You see in previous years we have had frost just a couple of days before the big weekend. This morning though we were given the okay from our local weatherman to get in the garden. So I'll take that chance this year and hope he is right!
After hearing that news I was excited when this pretty Supertunia Royal Velvet (petunia) plant from Proven Winners Direct arrived at my door. That means I could start gardening a little right now. Something to keep my gardening hands busy before we start digging in the big vegetable garden out back.
Yes, you heard right, this pretty plant came to my door packaged nice and perfect! There wasn't a leaf bent or a bloom missing!
I got right to planting but the watering can that I chose to use was bigger than my pot. I ended up filling the bottom up with a few Styrofoam egg cartons. Perfect!
It won't be long and the petunias will be overflowing! I love that deep purple color.
