This Week in our Home: Yearly goals Update Sept 2016

Grandbaby washing the baby doll

What keeps us busy these last days of summer?  The garden and the grandchildren!  They are so much fun. In the picture above beautiful granddaughter is cleaning the baby dolls face after she colored on it.

I thought I would update my yearly goals this week. I started these yearly goals in January and I'm amazed how they keep me motivated.   Oh I have the regular stuff on here -the I want to lose weight and be healthy thing but I also tried to think of different things that will help me in my life, home, and blog throughout the year.

So here is the update for September 2016:

My #1 goal is to be the best wife, mother, grandmother, I can but here is where I step outside the box this year (not in any order):

2.  Volunteer.   I always just give but I would like to do both this year. I want to get out there and help a charity.  Not necessarily every week but I would like to volunteer as much as I can.

I volunteered at the church for Summer Fest this past month. The children exhausted me but it was so much fun!

3.  Get healthier.  Eat better, exercise more!  I've lost 7 pounds this past month and it wasn't from walking!   With the high temperatures this wimp didn't want to go on many walks. What's finally working for me?   I watched Dr. Oz one day and he explained the day off diet.  It's been working great when I don't cheat!   Don't worry I'm still getting in some walking.

4.  Remodel the house a little  Remodeling is over but I've been clearing out a little because we hope to have another garage sale soon.   I had all the stuff I want rid of in bags ready to go but I ended up digging some of it out.  I have some re-purposing ideas (more on that later).

5. Improve this blog -redesign, keep learning, etc.  I have some great readers and visitors on this blog and I want to make it a great place to visit. I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

Sept:  I've taken a few classes to learn more about blogging and I'm seeing improvement in my numbers. I've paid for one and the other classes were freebies found on the web.  Just in one month I've went up more than 5,000 visitors!  Up from 10,000 to over 15,000 visitors a month!

I'm now updating more often on Pinterest.  I'm on Facebook  and Twitter just keeps growing!  I've decided that's enough social media for me to keep track of for now.

Do you set any yearly goals?
