My Frugal Ways this Past Week 3/5/17!

Kids and cardboard boxes

We forgot our bags when we went to Aldi's so we decided to use their boxes to bring our food home. The grand kids took possession of them right away and used them for chairs.   Better than all of their toys.

Bought a ham at Aldi's for 1/2 off- $7.00

I requested three books at the library.

I won some Gluten Free flour!

We have two vehicles and they both needed to be fixed for the exact same problem this past week.   By the time husband took the second vehicle he had more estimates and found a place that was $200 less.   It pays to shop around.

I completed the survey for Kroger rewards.

Making banana pancakes

I usually only eat 1/2 banana at a time so I freeze the other half. This weekend I found time to make some banana pancakes.  These are the good looking ones.

Deals at JC Penny

We went to JC Penny on Friday.  They were giving out $10 off $10 coupons, $20 off $20, or you could get $100 off $100. We both got the $10 off $10 and also received $10 for next week.

I paid $5.29 including tax for my shirt (on sale for $15.00 minus the $10.00). He was able to use his $10.00 and get two t shirts for free (on sale for $5.00 a piece minus the $10.00). Great deals!

What was on the menu last week:

Monday             Leftover lasagna, garlic bread

Tuesday             Ham, sugar peas, and mashed potatoes

Wednesday         Out to eat

Thursday            Homemade hamburgers

Friday                 Hamburger steak, peas, and mashed potatoes

Saturday             Hot dogs

Sunday               Roast (it's in the instant pot now),  potatoes, and green beans

My Goals for Next Week:

Clean and organize the front and quilt closet.

Take the rolled coins I have and change them in at the bank.   I'm saving the money for our vacation up north this summer.  Two years of saving coins and so far I have saved up $250.00.   I hope to save at least $50.00 more this way   I'm thinking this will go towards the gas and food.
