The little things we do to save money can add up fast.  Sometimes a repair or a clean up can save a lot.  For me I have to stop for a moment and think before I throw something out.  I have to ask myself it that bad or can I spend a little time to clean it or fix it?

This week I grabbed our step stool and I realized how badly we painted it during our bedroom remodel.   It was so bad I thought about buying a new one and putting this one in the garage.   In the end I talked myself out of that and decided it was worth trying to get all the paint off.   Of course it also helped to realize that a step stool like this is running close to $40.00 on Amazon!

It took some serious elbow grease and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser but just thirty minutes later I had a new looking step stool!

My wage this morning:  $40.00 an half hour!

Have you salvaged something lately so you wouldn't buy new?
