Stenciling my Pantry with Help from Stencil Revolution (My Honest Review)

When we first moved to this house about 25 years ago we had some shelves that ran very deep and made of cheap plywood for a pantry.  As you can imagine many things got lost in the back and sometimes were only found during Spring Cleaning, old and out of date.

Understanding the mess we had, about 15 years ago my husband with the help of a neighbor, made the shelves into easy pull out drawers. It was like a dream come true.  You know how you keep looking at new things and you can't believe that you have them. That newness feeling has never gotten old for my pantry.

I had put some stenciling on each drawer a few years ago but that had become old and worn looking. So when I was contacted by Stencil Revolution about their product, I was so excited. I loved the wonderful ideas that I was able to come up with while looking at their vast selection of stencils.  I was able to quickly pick out the ones I loved in no time at all.

While I waited for the order to come, I gave all my drawers a new coat of paint to get them ready.   I also made a trip to the store to buy a stencil brush and chalk paint.

The stencils came in the mail before I knew it and I was so excited! It was so funny how nervous I was about this whole thing because it was such a easy project.

First, I taped on the stencil to the drawer with scotch tape then dapped the paint on with the stencil brush.  It really could not have been any easier.  I love how it looks hand painted when you are done.

The stencils are heavy too and not flimsy.   Their stencils, according to the FAQ on the Stencil Revolution's website,  are made using a "reusable 12 mil food-safe Mylar plastic that's the toughest, safest consumer-grade stencil material available anywhere in the world."

The wheat stencil stood out right away.  Did you know that wheat is mentioned many times in the Bible and is a sign of charity and love.   No wonder I had to have it!

Every spare moment I worked on the drawers and it became so easy.  By the second drawer it was getting exciting and I could see how this was going to look so pretty.

The last stencil did give me some problems but they were of my own doing.  I didn't place the stencil flat enough at first and the paint bled in the parts I didn't want it to. While it was wet, I quickly cleaned it up with a magic eraser and then tried it again.  The next time I tried it turned out all blurry because I didn't let the drawer dry.  So out came the eraser again.  This time I gave it a day to dry and for me to calm myself down again.   You know I can't do anything without some drama!

Finally, it was done!   A new look to my pantry and is was my own creation.  Well kind of, without the stencils  from Stencil Revolution I would have just been dreaming about it.

They have such a great selection at Stencil Revolution that you are bound to find something you would love that would be hard to find elsewhere.  Their service was exceptional and I'm so happy with the end result.

This is a sponsored post and I received this product for free with compensation.  This is my honest opinion.
