Here are the ways we've saved this past week:
We went to an estate sale and went the wrong way out of the neighborhood when we came out(no outlet). We started looking at the pretty homes and then realized how much everyone was throwing away. We were trash pickers that day! We found two working fans, a casserole dish that was new in the box (with some no expiration coupons for campbells products inside), apple pie platter, a little harp, and a working car jack. All things we will use for free. We were so excited!
Yesterday I went with the grand kids to our local historic village. It was free day for the residents in our county. Besides all the historic homes they have a little petting zoo, and many fun displays for the kids to participate in. Great day!
I'm so thankful I planted this grow bag. We have had many salads and made some great wilted lettuce with it. I'll be picking more today.
We hope that it will be dry enough in the garden by Wednesday to plant. We just never know for sure though. We actually had three thunderstorms hours apart yesterday.
I shopped the clearance at Rite Aid for food items and we stocked up on bacon this week. You can see my savings here.
Yesterday was the first day of our power company's new summer rate from 2-7 p.m. Basically the rates are higher between 2 and 7 p.m. We made sure to do all the wash and made dinner before 2.
My Goals for this Week:
Hopefully plant the garden (I'm going to plant some pots or order more grow bags if we don't). I think this will take up most of my week.
