I went to Meijer this week and started shopping Halloween clearance. I bought the kids some Halloween shirts for next year at 90 percent off and some candy that was 70 percent off. Husband then hid the candy somewhere out in the garage. Even I don't know where it is (I looked for it one night) ha ha.
Then I was walking down the aisle on the way to the produce section and noticed these garbage bags on clearance. They were marked down to $1.99 for 70 bags. I will have to tie them in a knot on top but I think I can handle that. Garbage bags are extremely high for something you are just going to put in the dump, so I was so glad to find this deal. Buying them on sale like this leaves more money to buy actual food!
What great grocery shopping deal or deals did you get this week?
Be sure to

My best bargain in groceries this week was BOGO on some Mexican cheese dip that I like to keep on hand for nachos and other quick eats. I got four 16 ounce containers, which will hopefully last until the next deal comes along.
I think it's always good to have some things ready to eat on hand. It sure beats having to make a quick trip to the store and pay full price. Glad you got a great deal Kay!
That is a great deal on the trash bags. Makes you wonder why something like that goes on clearance. Maybe changing box or something.
Funny on the candy.
I always wonder about that too..I'm like you Cheryl it must be the box.
This week at Publix, I had a coupon for free cookies when I spent $40.00. That was easy to do. Then, today, I had another coupon to take $10.00 off of $50.00. At Hobby Lobby, I used the 40% off one item coupon to get a box of cards. I love saving money. :-) Have a blessed week!
Sounds like a great week Melissa! I love to buy boxes of cards too. So handy to have around and so much cheaper.
I think either I failed this week or I did an awesome job this week. Never went to any store this week, had more than enough to eat. But then I think we blew it because we went to visit some of our children and grandchildren and took them out to brunch and that was a small fortune. So you win some and you lose some.
It costs so much to eat out but sometimes it's good to get them together. You got to think like that..over and over again! I hope it was a good meal.
We had a great time, it was my birthday week-end and my husband always does a 2-4 day birthday before and after, it's great I love it. And your right that it costs so much it's so easy to drop a $100. real fast.We don't eat out often, maybe once or twice a month. Retirement isn't like when my hubby worked pay checks are so much smaller.Yet life is joyful.
Your husband is so nice...Happy Birthday! We are in the same situation as you...much smaller retirement checks!
