Book Review: Loving Jenna (A Wells Landing Romance Book 9) by Amy Lillard

Loving Jenna (A Wells Landing Romance Book 9) by [Lillard, Amy]

Loving Jenna (A Wells Landing Romance Book 9) by Amy Lillard

Jenna Burkhart is tired of being “special” and hearing about what she can't do. Even though she suffered a head injury in a childhood swimming accident, she wants a life of her own just like any Amish woman. But now that she, her mamm, and her mammi have moved to Wells Landing, she's having a hard time fitting in. . . . Until she meets Buddy Miller, a boy just like her, who gives her the confidence to reach for the impossible . . .

Like Jenna, Buddy is used to being the boy no one expects much from, the one people see as “different.” Still, being around Jenna’s lively, kind-hearted ways makes him strive ever-harder to become the self-sufficient Amish man she deserves. But in the face of family disapproval and their own fears, will Jenna and Buddy's courage be enough to give them a forever happiness together?

My thoughts:

I was so glad to be coming back to Wells Landing in Amy Lilliard's new book, Loving Jenna.  With such descriptive writing I am able to imagine the beautiful Amish settlement and I'm excited to meet the new people who move to the community. They all come hoping to find a new start but they have their own set of problems.  It's always an adventure to see how they are resolved.

This book really had me thinking about Jenna and Buddy's situation. I admit that at first I sided with both Mothers and went right along with their way of thinking.  However, this book gave such a different point of view, my mindset began to change as the story unfolded.  Some of you may come around much sooner.

Both Jenna and Buddy were my favorite charactors.  I was so proud to see what hard workers they both were.  I loved how they generally tried to think about things before they followed through.  They were so careful about the feelings of others and thought about what God would like them to do.

What a wonderful story filled with community, family, and love.

I was given this book by the author.  This has been my honest review.
