Stay at Home

I think our state government was trying it's best to hold out on issuing a Stay at Home order but yesterday morning Michigan just couldn't wait any longer.  This is getting serious, people are very sick, and everyone just needs to stay home.  Covid 19 is everywhere in Michigan, even in the Upper Peninsula.

You know from the sounds of it we have been doing everything that she (the governor) wants us to do anyway.  We have stayed our distance from each other as we have walked down the street, went on walks in the park,  and gone to the store to get needed supplies.  We have hollered at our neighbor and shared the latest news from our front yard and waved at the others passing by.   All of this is still allowed under this order but  I think she had to make it an order so people would  be forced in to following the orders.   I'm not sure of all the details and there are still questions I have, but you know we will be okay!

Our Anniversary!

I know a lot of people will be celebrating anniversaries and birthday's during this time.  They will be different celebrations this year. I think it's the children's birthdays that I would go crazy over and try to make it as special as I could.  They need things to be normal in their little world, as much as we can make it.

Our anniversary will be one of the celebrations that just happened to be in this mess.  We are doing a low key dinner, ha ha. Yesterday, I went digging in that freezer that will be defrosted today and found some cheap steaks we bought awhile ago.  We have potatoes that will be baked and enough vegetables to make a good salad.  The best part of this day is that we have been promised a beautiful day to grill out and we are alive to celebrate it.

If  you want to, leave a comment and let  me  know how everything is  going  in your neck of the woods.

Yeah!  Amazon audible is free right now till school reopens.

I quit counting of how many times I started a conversation... When I look at past history of pandemics, especially the Spanish flu ...

Even to my brother ten yrs older than me and taught history.

The Spanish flu is something to talk about. Most people don't realize it lasted 3 years. I can't imagine the grief.

Happy Anniversary! We had planned to go and stay somewhere and do something big for my 60th birthday in May but that will not happen. I agree that we can just be happy to have a roof over our heads and food to eat and good health. We now have an order from our Governor to law enforcement to break up groups of 3 or more people. This comes because the beaches are still crowded and teens are congregating i parking lots. I feel sorry most of all for parents with a houseful of teenagers. The teens next door can be seen skulking around the driveway like the world has come to an end.

Happy Anniversary! Our 27th Anniversary is today, we made taco's, which we both love. Both of us have a cold, yes just a cold, seen Drs before this all came out. Some things just will just have to wait. One of my DRs wanted me to come in for some tests for my kidney and I just laughed. Sorry if it isn't life or death I'm staying in, besides when I was in the hospital recently the tests were good. After 13 years I can tell you how things are, for me it's water I have to drink ton's everyday. You would think I'd be thin, but nooo. Once again Vickie thanks for the books.

Well I need to take advantage of Amazon audible! Thanks

I woke to a downpour about 4:20 AM, drove to my son's house at 4:45, came home in a drizzle around 6:45 & tried to sleep an hour in a torrential downpour. Finally got up & by midmorning the sun was out. I've really enjoyed the last two days with my grandson & he seems so super excited to be spending all his time with me.

So many plans cancelled but we will celebrate another time.
Oh man, it's a depressing time I bet for the teens. It's gonna be a long haul. I hope they find something to do fast?

Happy Anniversary! My DH's b-day is Saturday. He's low key and doesn't like a fuss. It won't be any different day. I was so worried I couldn't get the icing to his cake. I got some. Yeah!!!!

Out city is in lockdown now to. DH is still essential. He's happy for the paycheck. I want him home but I am past the anxiety & fear. I am now accepting. Only do pickups for groceries.

Nursing home in my area has been affected. Many that live there are close to my family and friends. We lost three in the past twenty-four hours. The grief and anger is overwhelming.

It was so nice. Just a quiet celebration.

Happy Birthday to your husband. I'm so glad you found the icing. It's good to do all we can.

We basically can't do pick up groceries any more ..they can not give you a full order so many things are out.

Oh no another nursing home. So very sad and I can understand the grief and anger. Such heartache.
