The School Deliveries:

The School bus that delivers the grand children's lunches still comes by but like many school districts, they have condensed it down to once a week.   They will come by every Wednesday with a weeks full of lunches for the kids.  Yesterday, for two children included, two gallons of milk, fruit, vegetables, and sandwiches for their lunches.  We actually had to take a wagon to help us bring it up the driveway.  They are  essential workers and on the front lines and don't need to be needlessly exposed.  What a blessing they are!

Quiet

With hardly any airplanes in the sky and very little car traffic make my house seem like it is in the country, miles away from everything.  It's so quiet here you can hear the eerie sound of the bus blowing their horn from a mile away it seems.  It's a different world.

Please leave a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

I know what you mean about the quiet. We live outside of town, and it's even more quiet than usual.

3 of my grands are also getting the food- they get lunches and breakfast and it’s different everytime- they get little cartons of milk, juice, fruit, cereal and sweet rolls, different lunch choices. I’m thrilled they get them and so is their mom.

Wow! That is great to get gallons of milk when the farmers are having to dump it! It is crazy quiet here too. We love it!

Amish have commented how much safer it is for them on the roads. I notice the dogs in the neighbor aren't barking so much either... I am rural so sound travels over a mile.

It's so nice and so helpful during this time. They did get little cartons until the schedule change.

Oh wow..the things you never think about. The sound of silence is everywhere.

I know Lana..i don't understand still the milk dumping or the vegetables being plowed under. I hope something can be done soon.

Rhonda ..who would have ever thought we would be getting their food from the school bus.

Glad the schools are providing lunches. I'm not sure how often the buses are still coming around here since I think they were off for Easter break.
Strange times.

Quiet here, too. Although last week, a small plane crashed about three blocks away. Sad to say there were no survivors. Also, tornadoes ripped through parts of SC earlier this week. Our area was spared. I am thankful to God for all healthcare workers and volunteers who are helping during this stressful time.

Our town is not huge but the schools have set up about 20 pick up sites, kind of time staggered. It really is a blessing for the families.
I wish they would do senior citizen bag lunches and breakfasts too :)

Senior citizen dinners would be nice...they just might be doing that here for the older crowd I'm not sure.

It has been a wild week that's for sure. So sad about the plane crash and the tornadoes. I'm glad your ok.
I believe all the essential workers are angels in disguise.
