Will it Ever Get Used?

About 2 weeks ago (time has stopped I'm not sure) I bought a razor to cut hair and I have been watching, how to cut hair you tube videos, like crazy.  So far though, I have had no luck with convincing the man to let me cut his hair.

Well, he'll say practice on the boy (grandson) or maybe I'll put it in a ponytail (he did this in the 70's).  I mean really, he could wear a hat if it was that bad.

So, I've quit talking and have just given up. He will have to wait till they open back up the barbers.  Kind of makes me sad that he doesn't trust me.  Maybe I could say, trust me over and over again while he is asleep.

Oh well, maybe I'll return it for a refund or maybe I should wait till he is desperate.

Let it be known though I was prepared....

Do you cut your husband's hair?  How did you convince him to let you try?

Please leave a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

Hopefully he will let you cut his hair eventually. There is no telling how long this will go on, so he may let you.

Thanks for the laugh.
No, I don't cut my husband's hair. I offered to cut my son's but he doesn't trust me either. I think he is going for the pony tail ..Steven Seagal look :)

Belinda, I'll be patiently waiting on the side lines!

Hubby has had long hair since he was 18 and out of school. Daughter 2 French braided it a lot. I have trimmed his hair. He won't let his mother near it or she will give him a bowl cut like she always did when he was growing up. He does wear a pony tail a lot.

Exactly they are afraid of bowl cuts! I have a lot of ponytail holders if it comes to that!

Kathy you made us both laugh! The Steven Steagall look may just happen!

I have been cutting my husband’s hair for 20 years. He wanted me to shave his neck at first. Then he wanted me taper up the bottom. We are real frugal and his barber went on vacation, so he asked me to try and cut his hair. I have always had clippers. It wasn’t the best but I got better with practice. Now I trim his neck one week and then give him a full hair cut the next week he likes it short like the police. It saves so much money.

Oh this made me laugh!

I've cut my own hair & I've let my husband cut my hair...he did a pretty good job actually.

He has begged me to cut his hair & I wouldn't do it....before corona...now if he wants me to do it I will. I told him though that if he wants me to cut it I need to do it soon. Once it gets pretty long I won't be able to copy the cut he has. Honestly I wouldn't care so much except he does still have to go to work.

I'm glad he will let you cut his hair. I was thinking the longer it gets the harder it will be.
My hair is getting wild too ..I can cut my bangs but the length is needing a trim. I love that he cuts yours!

I bet it saves a lot of money Peggy! Practice does help! I need someone to practice on.

Being poor college students helps and then the father in law offering me $10 to cut his hair which was a small fortune to us 42 years ago did the trick. I have cut his hair ever since along with our 3 sons when they were growing up.

My husband lets me cut his hair. He said he spent enough money on barbers all the years he was in the military - it feels good to save that money now. I also cut my son's hair. He won't let anyone touch his hair. Mom is the only one that does it the way he likes it. Ann

At some point he's likely to get desperate enough to let you try! And then you can practice :)

We are getting ready to do the annual haircut on my husband with our clippers. When the weather starts to warm up, I know it's time for the dogs and my husband to get a haircut! lol He does the dogs and his own hair with the preset guides on the clippers and then I help neaten up the back and clean off his neck.

My 14yo daughter has started cutting her own hair and has trimmed mine a few times. I actually trust her, plus I don't have to go anywhere that requires looking a specific way so if it needs time to grow out, that's ok!

My poor DH is going bald so he doesn't need a hairdo, lol. I use to cut his hair. He trims mine but my hair is waist length so it doesn't need a lot to maintain. Years ago I was treated to an expensive day at a salon that styled a lot of the professional movie & TV stars hair. When I set down in the chair for the girl to start doing my hair she said "Who does your hair?" She was calling the other girls to look at my hair. I thought "Oh no! There is something wrong with my hair." I said cautiously my husband did my hair. The girls couldn't stop oohing and aahing how good he was at hair. To this day everyone compliments my hair. My not so humble brag about my DH's skills, lol.

Lana, that father in law saved you a bunch of money over the years! He was a smartie.

Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden said...

Ann that is so neat that you cut their hair! I love that you son wants only you to cut his hair. So sweet!

Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden said...

Oh it's that something, your husband can cut better than a salon! That's a great story, love that!

Jenny, Look at how you all manage. We need to get brave and start cutting our hair! It would be so worth it in the end.
