The Down Side of Cooking:

I know we have food to eat and for that I'm grateful.  I'm tired of cooking though.  Sometimes I cook and I love it, like just yesterday.   I made a dried apple pie and that wonderful breakfast sandwich that stayed with us most of the day.

Today, though I told my husband your on your own.  So what is the down side of cooking?  The dirty dishes!  I could cook all day long if  there were not so many dishes to clean.

Husband said he would BBQ (hotdogs and hamburgers-I love him). So, it won't be the Ritz but it will be something to fill us up and we will survive.  I guess I'll have to get up and  thaw it soon.    Sometimes, we have to work a little for our blessings that God gives us.  Don't worry God already knows that I can be lazy.

Computer Problems:

I've had a some computer problems this morning.  We are going to have to buy a new hard drive. We have been trying to make this one last as long as possible but it's going down fast.  That stimulus check is another blessing coming soon (I hope).

Please leave a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

I miss going out to a restaurant. We don't go out often but I miss the experience. :-)

In the past few years I've tried to plan an off night once a week where I don't really have to cook. So I tried to think ahead & do that with my stay-home pantry. One thing that has really been a helpful surprise is the leftovers I usually send to work for my husband's lunch. He isn't really eating lunch at home.So those leftovers give me a night off from cooking.

I am exhausted from watching my grandson so tonight we did a feed-yourself night. There was enough chili leftover for one person so dh roasted hotdogs in the oven & had the chili. There was a little cooked ground beef leftover from hamburger salads earlier in the week so I heated it up & made a beef wrap for myself. Super quick & very yummy.

People who don't plan meals just do not realize what a weight it can be on your mind to plan three meals a day 7 days a week.

My car battery died & I couldn't drive my car this week. So I had to take my husband's car over to watch my grandson at 4:30AM...I hate driving his car. And that also meant he had to go to Walmart this morning to buy a new battery. Thankfully, he had no problem taking the old one out, trading for a new one & putting it in.

So sorry about the computer troubles. Hope the drive lasts a while longer.
I hear you about the cooking. I would love a break. And I had a stupid accident when I was going to make chicken and dumplings, by spilling hot chicken broth on my foot. Nasty burn but thankfully it is healing.

oh I'm so sorry about your accident. Hope your foot gets better soon, Kathy.

Little ones can be exhausting! Great deal to have a serve yourself night.
I'm so glad that your husband fixed the battery. So no mechanics are working at Walmart? I just never thought about it.
Need to start praying for those old cars out front.
Have a great day Jenny.
