Picking lettuce out my back door
We needed lettuce for our sandwiches yesterday and it was so nice to be able to pick some out just outside my back door. I have been using the outer leaves of the butter crunch lettuce for wilted lettuce and salads too. Nice not to have to go to the store.
The leaf lettuce is coming along too in the grow bag. I'm going to try and thin it out today.

Wow your lettuce looks great!
Mine is just piddly looking. Did you grow it right in the bag?
Thanks Kathy I started it first in winter sown jugs than transplanted it into the grow bags. That kind of gave me a jump start.
Thank you Vickie, so many good books. I can't wait to check out the hungry mans cookbook. There would have been nothing left of the lettuce because I love fresh salad greens.
That cookbook sounds so good ...Hope you find some good recipes!
Your lettuce is awesome! Never thought of growing in bags!
It's a fun way to grow and so easy! Have a great day Laura!
