Strawberry Jam and Muffins

Image may contain: food
Friday's are catch up days for Grandmas school and we decided to just take the day off to catch up around here.

I got done making my strawberry jam.  I made a total of 8 pint jars and I have strawberries left.  I also made strawberry muffins.  The husband even made sure to grab one of those.

I think we will just eat the rest (2 quarts) or who knows maybe a pie.

About that Tub:

So we sat down and went shopping online for our tub yesterday.  He decided that a Porcelain steel tub was the tub we wanted.  We need a right one (we come into our bathroom and the tub is on the right hand side).  Yes, I learned something new!   Ace is cheaper than anyone but they didn't have of the right ones in stock, Wayfair is kind of high but it will be August before delivery ($489).  Home Depot is $336 and Walmart is $440.  All with different delivery dates (a commenter warned me about this).

Now.. he wants to just go to the store. I think through the week is best without so many people being there and we will go early.  I mean we wear a mask but others don't and the hardware stores look packed.

Right now I'm thankful for that Flex tape.  It's working and you know who's gonna see it anyway? Right?   No use in getting in a hurry because it won't get us anywhere.

Please leave a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

Oh yum! Strawberry jam! I still have some from last season. lol! While I love it, grape is the choice around here. I bet it feels good to have the jam on the shelf. Strawberry pie sounds good, too :)

You will have to share pictures of your tub when you get it! I sure do miss a tub. Enjoy yours!

Oh, strawberry pie! Yum!

Last fall we needed pull down attic stairs because ours had broken. It was 6 months before one could be delivered. Hubby ended up rebuilding them because we could not wait that long. I think it must be the housing boom with so many houses being built right now, at least in our area. We have found that the stores are mobbed when they first open on the morning because everyone wants to beat the crowd so we arrive about 45 minutes after opening and the stores are almost empty as a general rule. I hope you can get whet you need soon!

There is always something to fix or a project needing done, isn't there? I just realized the "scratch" in my toilet bowl is a crack! I hope it doesn't get worse and break before I can get it replaced. It's actually been there several months. So far, it's holding up, but I need to have my son-in-law look at it and confirm that I need it replaced. Nothing looks funnier than a old toilet in the yard--sigh... Because after it's replaced, then I have to get someone to take it to the dump! Oh well, it's minor compared to some problems. I'll be anxious to hear that you are able to get a tub locally.

Good job on the jam and muffins! You are making me hungry! I laid out a recipe for orange scones, but haven't had time to make them. I sewed a different style mask yesterday for myself and it turned out really nice. My son-in-law liked it a lot, so today I am making him one. He has to wear one for work every day.

We ordered our bathtub online from Lowes. By the time we figured delivery from other places we could get it there at a better price.

Just take it one step at a time.

I've had a few garden friends over giving away plants. I really wanted to divide my peonies & decided to post them free on Facebook. I guess people are bored out of their minds because in the past I get a response then no one wants to come dig....I always tell they have to do the digging.

But two ladies came today at different times. We did social distancing & they did not come inside. It was SO nice to actually talk to someone about something I love. We'll see if the rest get taken or if I have to toss them.

I'm really enjoying watching the orioles at my feeders right now. My toads & my turtle have come back for the summer & both have been fun to interact with. And I'm enjoying a 3 day weekend away from the toddler.

I want to give away some of my hostas...maybe I should do what you are doing. I bet that was fun talking to someone different Jenny. I wonder if anyone would want some.
So a friend used to feed Orioles at their feeders. They were so pretty. I remember oranges or something.
Is that what you do?

Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden said...

Oh no sorry to hear about your toilet. I hope it's only a small crack and you won't need to replace right away.
We are still looking online and reading reviews.
I'm looking for a different style mask. Glad you found one your like.
