I clean up my living room every night or morning but somehow by the weekend things build up and it needs some serious organizing.  So, this morning was the time to get with it.   Yep, I'm going to show the mess to you!  Took me 45 minutes of picking up, organizing, and dusting.  I didn't vacuum because I had a feeling that some people may not appreciate the noise at 6 in the morning.  I don't think they can hear my gospel music playing on the radio (hope not).

So here is some before and after pictures of my cleaning this morning:

Before:  Little granddaughter has so many toys.  She plays while I home school grandson.  She will be in Kindergarten next year.

After:  Looks so much better!

Then there is the rest of our living space!
Before:  Grand Central Station:  We eat, home school, cut material, and pay bills all at the kitchen table.

After -all organized and ready to go next week!   I think we have a week and half left or something like that of school.

The after with the window curtains open this morning.

I found two more pairs of my reading glasses in the mess!  Yeah!

With the home being the center again and not just a way station, keeping house seems more satisfying.

I had to chuckle at finding two pairs of reading glasses. I have them stashed all over my house!

The first thing I want to do when my grandson leaves is clean up all of his toys! It can be so overwhelming. I'm working on 'teaching' him to help me clean when his mom is on the way. She messages me when she leaves work & it takes about 15 minutes to get here from there. He usually doesn't want to help because he knows it's almost time to go home. We'll see how long it lasts.

I'm also getting rid of some things in the next few weeks. I can't fit everything in his hallway cubby anymore (It's a space that used to hold my washer & dryer so it's a big space)What can't fit there will have to go.

It's so nice to have it all put away for the weekend!

It's a relief to get it all cleaned up. I'm glad you've started making him help! Smart. I got her to clean up on Wednesday but after that is was a no.
I'm kind of glad there are no garage sales going so we don't bring more in.
Have a good Saturday.

Looks great! Your home is lovely!
Hope you have a day of rest before it all starts back again tomorrow or Tuesday.

thanks so much Kathy! They are here right now enjoying hamburgers and ice cream. I've got this though!

If she is starting school you might as well start her putting things back where they belong. I know my girls all said they should have taught their kids instead of picking it up for them as it was brought up at school the kids lack of that as it is required in school. The grandsons I watched all picked up after themselves (Daughter 2 and I both were that way) and the one teacher thought it was funny when the grandson yelled 5 min room rescue and hauled butt to pick things up (Flylady.net term)

It never mattered as much before..she had been in preschool most of the day. Life certainly has changed.
