A Garden Update:

We found him on the side of the road and I had to have him. We supplied the cap.  He is so fun to look at and I think he has been useful already!

I have never really grown huge onions before so I've been reading and watching youtube videos how to make sure onions grow big.  A couple of them have said by now I should clip off some of the tops of the onions to make sure the growth goes to the bulb instead of the green.  The grandson helped me yesterday and we will finish up today.  Gosh, this was hard ...they had better be right!  Maybe I should leave a few long just in case they are wrong.

After it cooled off and before the mosquitoes came out, I weeded 3 rows of green beans last night...the longest rows of my life.

Tonight's weeding job is the potato patch.

My roses are blooming!   I have three fragrant rosebushes right outside my bedroom window.

Please a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

Your roses are beautiful, and I know they smell wonderful.
I didn't know that about onions. Let us know if it works and you have big onions.
Have a good weekend.

Your onions look so good, Vickie. And that rose is beautiful.

Beautiful rose! We have green beans this morning! SO excited that something is finally producing! My Mom used to send us out to weed. WORST JOB EVER!

Growing food is very hard work. It's a full time job.

Love the scarecrow.
Let us know how the onions grow.

Told my husband your new onion method, his onions don’t get big either.

Last year was the first time I bought the plant starters instead of the bulbs. They were bigger than my regular golf ball sized ones. I was so proud.
This year I bought these from a different supplier and they are looking to be good ones too. I'm hoping for a big harvest. We will see I guess.

Jenny,l I'm so glad I have the space to grow. There is no way I can grow all our food but it's a lot of fun and keeps us supplied in fresh veggies in the summer. A least I hope it will. You never know what will happen.
