We came back from vacation and realized most of the tops of the onions were bending over. So, I've been harvesting them and leaving them to season in the dark corner of the garage.  I've hung them up by the rafters and laid them out on cookie cooling racks.   I'm running out of room.  Just maybe I planted too many! 

This is the first year I've grown bigger than golf ball sized onions.  I'm so impressed with this method of growing onions.

I also harvested zucchini and tomatoes (2 of each).  We have both had a wonderful tomato sandwich. There is nothing like it.

I've also started making some Zucchini bread.  Oh so good!

Looking good! There is nothing like a homegrown tomato sandwich! Our neighbor boy is watering and for my container garden at home. On Sunday he sent me a picture of a big tomato worm who had been chomping on my plants. I hoping to finally have some tomatoes when we get back!

Gorgeous produce!

We have rain! I am so happy to ave rain. No downpours just a steady drizzle off & on. At least the ground is fairly well soaked & the temperature is much more comfortable.

I'm picking lots of cherry tomatoes (suncherry, chocolate & sweet 100) I'm also fighting worms & squash bugs so I'm picking as soon as they begin to turn. And I'm roasting tomatoes every few days.

I think next year I'd like to have garlic. I think you plant it in late summer or fall to harvest the following year? I'm not sure....I need to research it.

Will you store your onions to last through the winter?

My dil received a box of produce from a coworker who was just getting rid of it. She gave me 8 pounds of oranges & three nice large yellow onions. She kept 8 pounds of oranges herself plus about 12 to 15 pounds of apples. She plans to make apple butter with the apples.

Oh I love homegrown tomatoes!
Great job on the onions. So cutting the green part makes the onions bigger? I'll remember that for next year.

I've never had chocolate cherry tomatoes before. Man that sounds delicious!
We have grown garlic before but I found I didn't use it enough. Love it though. We planted in the fall and harvested late Spring. It's a lot of fun and you can also use the garlic scapes (the stems) in your cooking in the Sprin. Maybe I'll try it again and just not grow so much.

Our onions will be stored in a room in my daughter's basement. The potatoes lasted a long time down there.

I love that you got all that produce. What a blessing!

Yes cutting the green part seemed to work and then after the green stem grew again I cut any green part that started bending. I just broke it off with my hands just below the bend.
