This week we found a few things along the curb but they were not as grand as last week. Still, though this stuff is still quite useful! This bookcase was in mint condition..not real wood mind you but it's perfect. Perfect for something...I'm thinking of what and where to use it. We just couldn't pass it up.
Parts
Then there was this bike the neighbor put out. Sometimes you have to think beyond the ugly and think parts. We need the brakes for the grand boy's bike. We saved $15.00 by just throwing it in the back of the truck plus we got to social distance talk with the neighbor. We were sad to know that he's moving and will be having a garage sale soon.
The last thing we picked up was a shop vac. We knew it probably didn't work but the husband wanted the hose from it. We put the rest of it at our curb on garbage day and someone picked it up again.
How's your week been going? Is everything alright in your neck of the world?

Nice bookcase! That will be useful and great job getting the parts for the bike and vac.
Thanks for the books. I got the Christmas gifts and foods Jesus ate books.
Hope you have a great weekend
The exact two books I got Kathy!
Shelves are always useful even if they store paint cans in the garage. Parts are always good. We went to two grocery stores this morning and were surprised by how many empty shelves there were. We have not seen that for awhile.
Great idea ..I'll be seeing what I can do with it out there.
Isn't that crazy? We've been seeing empty shelves here too.
Oh, what a great find on the bookcase. I would have picked that up too. Congratulations to Nancy on the winning the book.
More fun stuff.
I have a funny/sad story...A few weeks ago we received a refrigerator water filter from Amazon. We don't have water or even an ice maker in our fridge & we didn't order it. So we asked our son if he did. He & my husband have the same name & things often get mixed up between them.
He said he didn't order it but he could use one. But when he looked at it he said it wouldn't fit his fridge. We all wondered over it & figured it was an Amazon glitch. I couldn't use it so after about a week, I took it in a box of donations to Goodwill.
Then a couple of nights ago my husband got a text from a friend asking we we received a water filter in the mail?! He had ordered one for his fridge & accidentally sent it to our house. He sent a link so we could see what it looked like...$47! I felt so bad!
Thankfully, he thought it was hilarious.
We've been friends for about 15 yrs. He worked with my husband for awhile then went to seminary. We used to send them care packages when they were in school. Once we, ordered gourmet Valentine candy & wrote then house number wrong by one digit....the neighbor got & ate it. They had sent us a few things in those years through Amazon as well.
So the lesson learned....go to our Amazon account & delete all those addresses we've mailed gifts to! I guess you win some & you lose some.
Our friend was going to search the thrift store just to see if he could find the filter before ordering another one.
Thanks Belinda
what a wild story...I'm going to go delete those addresses too! You have to watch everything. Gosh I hope he gets it back.
He looked this week & we didn't hear from him....so I assume he didn't find it. :(
Oh no! Well it can't be helped you didn't know. It sure did teach us all a lesson though.
