It was down to 36 this morning when I woke up. We got lucky but it's very cold!    I just looked outside as the sun came upand we didn't get lucky.  There has definitely been a freeze.

I went out and picked tomatoes and cabbage in the garden last night in case we really did get down to freezing.  I wrapped the green tomatoes  in newspaper to make them last longer.   It's nice to still have ripe tomatoes in October/November.

Today or tomorrow I'm going to make sauerkraut with the cabbages.  We were getting really low.  I'm not sure how many jars these little cabbages will make but anything will help my inventory.

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

Those are beautiful cabbages, Vickie.

I'm sorry about the frost so early.
Glad you were able to pick your veggies. Glad you will have tomatoes ripening for another month at least. That wrapping in newspaper really does work.
Have a great weekend

You know after that it's just warm and beautiful now. We will probably get a Indian summer now.

I remember nights and days of 36 degrees when we lived in Virginia. Right now, in coastal SC, we have strong winds and cooler temperatures. We're in the 70's today. :-) Have a blessed weekend!

I have a friend from high school who lives in Michigan & she had a light freeze last night. She did have a frost but not hard enough to kill most things.

I rearranged my living room furniture today, made more tomato spread, picked more tomatoes, finished laundry & watched some tv. I was ready to relax before the kid comes back.

We had supper on the screened porch with our son.

All my zinnias are dead now that's so sad and the pumpkin vines are dead so we might as well pick them. The flowers in the front of the house are still alive for the most part.
Next week we are getting warm again! It's crazy sometimes.
I'm so glad you got some relaxation. We need to just chill out some on our own. You did a lot of work before that though!
