Thinking ahead- the vaccine!

I can only imagine the day when each of us has the chance to get the vaccine.  Can you imagine no masks, sitting down at a resturant with no worries, smiling and people actually know you are smiling.  All that freedom is some great stuff with this vaccine that is  95 % effective, so I have high hopes.   Children going back to school and enjoying their friends, standing closer than 6 feet apart to talk to the neighbor, the list just goes on and on.

But

I will have to take my turn.   I'm nearing 60 soon so I'm not sure when that will get me my shot or shots.  I'm not sure I want to go before my children and grandchildren.  I want them to have it first.

What I'm thankful for Today

I'm thankful for the scientist who have worked hard these last months and have given us hope.

What I'm sad about:

That its too late for a lot of people who have passed or have suffered with this terrible virus.

What I want  hope you do:

Stay safe because the vaccine is not here quite yet.  We want to see all our loved ones after this is over.  You know, we could just have a big family reunion in the summer couldn't we?  Let's book all the picnic pavilions up!  Then, let's write a book!

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

The vaccines have not been tested on children or pregnant women yet. Those studies commence early 2021.

We went out to do the rest of our grocery shopping for Thanksgiving this morning. Everyone has been saying they are not shopping this week because of the crowds so we were shocked to pull into Aldi and there only be about a dozen cars in the parking lot. Aldi has gotten so popular here that the store is always crowded no matter when you go. I guess everyone shopped last week. There was not a single turkey in the store which made me wonder if they are sold out all over town. MY favorite part of any holiday meal is on my list today and that is setting the table. I love picking out which dishes and and serving dishes and doing a centerpiece. This is one of the few times our dining room is useful since I can get it ready early and be done with it.

I'm feeling more hopeful now.
We are still trying to be careful for a few more months anyway. I'm not sure what the holidays will look like, but I want to be around to celebrate another year.
Stay safe! Brighter days are ahead!

Oh no I hope every one got a turkey.
One year I put out the pretty dishes on the table and everyone just grabbed a regular plate in the cupboard. Now I think they are used to me trying to make Thanksgiving a little special. A center piece sounds nice. I bet your table will be beautiful.

I'll be happy when they get a vaccine....can you imagine living through the polio epidemic? How long did it take to find a vaccine for that?

I do think I'll wait & encourage my family to wait before getting it though. I'm not a hero who wants to be the in the test group (the first year maybe?).

I did a little shopping early this morning at my local Neighborhood market & Aldi. I miss Aldi so much! The manager even mentioned that it had been awhile since he'd seen me.

My big order is tomorrow. I couldn't get my pick up today because the spots were booked so I'll drive in & get that tomorrow.

Well said.
My city went back into modified lockdown yesterday so I will be even more stringent than I have been.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving and stay safe.

Yes we are in that this of lockdown too Margie. It's already helping the #s it seems like. You have a lovely week too!

Well you have a point about not jumping in right away. One time my husband said as soon as Dr Fauci took it he will. Today though it seems we are ready but we will soon see.
Daughter is picking up her order on Thanksgiving. Pickup orders are so backed up.
