It's still dark out this morning but I couldn't resist taking a picture after the winter storm last night.  We are so lucky to still have power.  The storm dumped rain, hail, snow, then it decided to do it again!  There is ice on the trees but not enough ice to cause too much harm.

I spent my night going through Christmas cards and cutting out gift tags for next year.  I made a post about ways to reuse Christmas cards back in 2014 -you can see it here.

Christmas is all put away and we are ready for 2021.

Have you put Christmas away?  How's it going in your neck of the woods?

I too woke up to snow this morning but only a couple of inches - it looks magical out there. A friend and I decided to do an early morning walk while there weren't many people out and we were lucky, just as we left our building the sidewalk plow came by and cleared everything for us. We walked up to the local cemetery and walked through there as the roads there were also plowed already. It was just lovely and not too slippery. The temperature was just around 0C so quite mild for us with no wind -so we really enjoyed it.
Hope the power holds!

Very pretty! I do the gift tags too and love having a use for the cards every year. We have put away some of Christmas but things just keep coming up and putting us behind. Hopefully tomorrow.

I took my Christmas down on Wed in a half a day! I do still have all of my bottle brush trees on top of my kitchen cabinets. I usually keep them out through January. I did have a little (very little) help from my husband but he usually has nothing to do with decorating or decorating clean up. It went quickly because I've streamlined it so much in the past few years. I also filled a small box with things to get rid of. I went through my spring & fall decor totes & decluttered them as I decorated for winter. I'm so happy to have it done!

I hope the power holds too! We went for a ride and seen a tree resting on a power pole so I wonder how that will turn out.
Isn't it lovely though? Just a magical and so quiet. I've seen a lot of people walking the cemeteries. Good idea!

I know life gets so busy sometimes and it takes time to do it all right. Plus mine goes out in the garage so I have to really look around and make sure I don't forget anything!

Yes I got rid of a box too..things get old or I no longer use them. I'm actually going to put this box on top of our trash. We have people now coming through the neighborhood and really looking for things..I mean really looking. So I'll make it easy for them.
Husband helps here by saying it sure does look nice (rather is going up or down) LOL.

Thanks for the card tips.
We took down our tree today, but I'll leave up the friendly village and snowman stuff. Our local hospital asked people to leave the outside lights up for January to encourage their workers since January is such a dark month, and they need all the encouragement they can get these days.

What a great idea to use cards for Christmas tags for next year! I've done the same thing in the past. I think I will use that idea again. Very pretty snow. Stay safe and warm. Happy New Year! :-)
