I need to start an exercise program until gardening season.  I thought about walking but it's icy and 0 degrees here.  Yes, I'm a wimp and I'm also careful about my limbs.   I do not want to buy any machine because we really don't have room for anything like that.  So if you like a certain video or youtube channel let me know.  I think exercise right now would be good for the soul and the body.

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

I've been thinking along those lines too, that I need to be exercising. I want to do some sort of Pilates to increase my range of motion. I used to do those at the YCA in the pool, but not since Covid started.

Daughter 4 told me to use body groove, they are on youtube. It's what several of the older ladies were using that are in treatment with her. (cancer treatment ) Son2 bought me the dvds but I haven't tried them yet as doc said NO to any kind of exercise.

Oh my I have tried so hard to keep up with exercising. If you find a way to stay motivated let me in on it.

Here are some Youtube channels I've tried to follow.

This one I thought would be fun to do with my grandson. The British accent & it's for kids. A blogger I follow in England started doing it with her kids & it was the jump start she needed to stick with it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ

This is one I read about in an over 50 group....that's as far as I've gotten with it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCag7XoiJLutjBTsM0tAzUzg

Another from the over 50 group...it looks pretty hard to me though. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuGdYLQ89xKqvrSPsavMuKQ

And another I've read about.

I wonder if being a homemaker all these years has ruined my ability to stick with something? I seem to flit from thing to thing & only finish the fun stuff!

I know we used to walk in the mall too but pretty sure it's not open during covid.

I wanted to say older lady exercises but I'm so glad you understood. I look for body groove. Take it easy!

My girl and I were going for walks along the river, but not happening now with all the snow and ice. We tried the beach body workouts, but too strenuous for my middle aged joints.;) I'm thinking yoga until we can get our walks again. Let us know what you come up with. Good luck.

It's hard to concentrate on one thing for me too I hope I can stay with it though. I need to lose weight and it helps to exercise. I've been looking though your links. Thanks so much for posting them For me. I hope to find something I can stick with.

Yoga sounds so relaxing! Might be the thing to do!

I walk circles in my basement in the winter. It is laid out so I can do that and get up a good head of steam. Actually I do it quite a bit in the summer as well since I'm limited on the temp range than I'm supposed to be outside exercising after my heart surgery. At times I have to play "dodge a cat" but that just adds another degree of difficulty. I walk about an hour a day. I've lost 100 pounds doing this and my sugar is down to a much better level. Ann

I'm so impressed with your weight loss! What a great job! You are a inspiration and I need a basement! Perfect activity!

Don't assume your mall is closed--call and find out! Our local mall never closed because some of the stores remained open. I am in my 70s with a bad back, and if I could walk any distance, that's what I'd do.

There is (or was) a program on PBS called Sit and Be Fit. It originated at KSPS in Spokane for over 30 years. If you can't find it, search You Tube for "chair exercises." Everybody's got a chair, right?

We recently ordered a recumbent exercise bike from costco dot com for $799 delivered. We made space for it by rearranging the furniture in our bedroom and moving some furniture to other rooms. I plan to start by riding 15 minutes per day and listening to audio books.

Do squats, pushups (you can stand back from your kitchen counter rather than on floor/toes or knees), lay on your back and do bicycles for your abs. Get 5# weights and work bicep/tricep, lean forward and do "flies" for your pecs.

Walk in place with high knees for 10" while watching a segment of your favorite show.

Just that will get you in great shape. Repeat each 10 reps X3.

I like your can do attitude. I'll go to the mall in the morning after I take the kids to school and find out. I'm glad your not letting any thing hold you back!

Sounds like some great strength exercises. I'll give them a try! Thanks.
