My Diary

I've realized it for a long time but I didn't know what to do about it, I eat when I'm stressed.  I just go whole hog and forget about the type and amount of food I eat.  There, now it's out there and everyone knows my problem.

So, I'll tell you what started this journey, I gained the Covid 15.  That put it over the top. Yep, I started gaining just after Covid started.  Thank goodness I've lost 6 of those crazy pounds so far. What finally has clicked?  Tracking my calories on My Fitness Pal.  I'm a very slow loser but I did lose 6 pounds the first month.

Then the remodel began and boom!  I was proud of myself and that at least I did not gain those pounds back but I certainly didn't keep track of my calories as well.  There was improvement though, the thoughts of what I'm eating though never left me this time and I didn't go totally berserk.  

I'm feeling like I'm back on track and yesterday I did well again.  With most of the work done in the living room, I feel like my life is back in order somewhat.  I can do this!  

Now you know my struggle ..Now I have to go get Tim Horton donuts for the kids (I don't want any thank goodness)!

  3. Great job on the weight loss!!
    I need to lose about 10 pounds, but it is harder than I expected it to be. My dr is not going to be pleased with me, he is sort of like House but not quite as obnoxious. Maybe with the warmer weather, I can do more walks and grill more chicken...

  4. I've always lost weight tracking my calories but goodness it is so much work. I'm a comfort eater....eating for comfort. I guess that's the same as a stress eater. I don't think I'll ever be able to just eat without thinking AND maintain or lose weight.

  5. Yours is my story too Vickie. It's been a long year with too much eating the wrong things. I do well for a while, then feel sorry for myself and start eating in-between meals. Chocolate chips, cereal, crackers, anything and everything. Today I did walk for a hour-it was almost 50 here and sunny. Felt good to be moving outside. I don't want to beat myself up too much-this has been a stressful year and I just want to be kind to myself and others!
