Whatever social media you are on I bet you've noticed it..the constant arguing.  It's very sad when you think about it.  I'm beginning to wonder, where has all the kindness gone?   It can even be a story about someone who has passed away and the comments are just awful underneath.

Listen, Covid is not the only thing that can be contagious.  You listen to the madness long enough and you too can be mad about something.  It spreads like wildfire. You can get caught up in it very fast and have a hard time getting out.  Yep, I know about this.

Kindness needs to even go beyond social media.  For instance, when I called the internet company, I was flustered believe me, but I tried my best to make light of situation and make small talk.  She said I deserved the kindness award of the year.  Which was so sad because I when I think about it  I bet she had been yelled at a lot.

I've been making it my goal to be nicer because listen we need a kinder more gentler nation.  We have to start some where so, I practice when I go to a store, when I call a company, or when a service man comes to the house.   Sometimes people just need to know someone cares.

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

Lovely post! We definitely need more kindness these days. I appreciate your kind and gentle spirit. Thank you!

Yes indeed - people need to be nicer and kinder. It is easy for some to hide behind the internet - but it spreads into daily life as well.
Kinder words, less politics, and less fear mongering is all essential.

You are absolutely right! I think it has gotten better in the last month or so as we move away from politics so much and people get back to a more normal life but it was really bad for awhile here. When I am frustrated and need to make a phone call I try to pass that off to my husband because he is much less of a hot head than I am.

Kindness is why I read your blog often!

All of the above Cheryl!

So glad the politics are calmer now. I'm trying my best not to be a hot head too!

That's so sweet Mary. Thank you!

I hope to do better every day with the kindness! You are so kind to leave such wonderful comments!

Perfectly said Vickie! I need to keep working on trying to be kind, and say to myself that people are just trying their best. I also try to not say/write things that I wouldn't say to someone talking face to face. I think it's easy for some to hide behind a keyboard and write things you would never say directly to someone.

It's amazing what you think you should say and you should never. Waiting and thinking before you say too much is #1. I'm a work in progress.
Just so long as we keep trying Nancy I think that we are doing alright.

We really need to be encouraged to do better & be held accountable sometimes. Thankfully, I rarely encounter meanness but I do wear blinders.

I agree. On Facebook, I do a lot of scrolling by anything that might stir up controversy because I don't want to have that in my mind.

I've always tried being nice and showing respect to people providing services. They have a tough job and may have to deal with rude people. I had to report a problem with my phone that should have been fixed several days before. It turns out a different customer service person assumed it had been fixed, so they closed out the repair ticket. After the call was complete, I thanked her, told her how much I appreciated her help, and wished for her to have a great day. I was taken aback when she got quiet. Turns out, she was surprised by how nice I had been. She quickly stammered out a thank you and wished me one too. It's very sad when someone just being nice to others shocks that person so much they are speechless for a few seconds.

It started about 5 years ago and progressively got worse over the years until too many people think that type of behavior is acceptable. Look at the television shows being offered and how influential people treat others. It's no wonder it's gotten bad. Luckily, people are starting to stand up to the verbal abuse and are defending others, so it's starting to get better. Let's hope it keeps improving. Sorry for the long reply to your blog. Certain subjects get me going. 🤣🤣

Terri, You are absolutely right about the time line. I started noticing that too. It's true, it's verbal abuse!
I hope more people make it their mission to be nice and long replies are great!

I've learned the art of scrolling too! If I agree now on a news related story I just try to say very little or just hit the like button. Listen people can really attack you if you believe different from them!

I love that blinders are a great thing to have! We all need them lately!

Yes, it is so sad. One of my fondest and most useful-in-life activities in high school was being on the debate team. Now, people don't seem to have any debating skills, so they just attack the other person.
