Frugal Friday, Gardening, and some Great Deals all week 2/25/22!

My garden so far:

I have ordered 2 new black cherry trees and some strawberries from our local conservation district.  I'm deciding how to tell husband that I've done this but I always tell him everything. Of course he will know soon when Spring comes, so I'd better think of something quick before we have to go pick them up.  Maybe I should start with dear, you know we need a small orchard so I....

We have yet to get a peach or a apple from the trees I've planted a couple of years ago but there is always hope that they will do well this year.

I also planted some milk jugs for winter sowing.  I'm probably a little late on this one but we are still in the midst of winter here.  This year I only planted early crops like lettuce, mustard greens, and some radishes. It seems this are the early crops grow the best for me in winter sowing.  I have two small greenhouses that I will start planting in April.

Good Deals:

This week I have felt like a huntress, hunting good deals all week!

We went to the Salvation Army thrift store at the beginning of the week and I found brand new Capri shorts for Spring for about $3.00 each.  They still had the tags from the store on them!   I also found a clock for my sewing nook ($2.99 -green tag it was half off), some Tupperware, and a coffee pot.  It was so fun finding things we need at such a cheap price.

Meijers also had 50% off some clearance clothes. I found husband a Levi Winter Jacket for $20 and some clothes for the grandkids (Leggings for granddaughter and a Lions T-shirt for grandson).

Flashfood deals:   2 large trays of Spring Mix Lettuce $2.24 and $1.59, 3 Land o lakes Butter for $2.69 ea, 2 1/2 lbs of ground beef (laura's $3.74 & $3.91), steamtable red potatoes for $1.64, 4 Pork Loin Blakes chops for $1.24, and a apple box for $5.00.   Total spent $27.43.

What are the ways you saved this past week?

Great deals at the Salvation Army thrift store. I love our SA thrift store as they have 99 cent Thursday’s here. Your fruit tree orchard sounds lovely. I want one of those someday too. It’s on my bucket list. :)

I am loving your Flashfood deals! We got a number of deals at the discount grocery stores but now I am not remembering much of what we bought. We did find Italian Sausage for 1.25 a pound and our favorite frozen FF for 1.79 a bag and 2 pound bags of coffee of whole bean coffee for 4.99. We got a free bag of Otis Spunkmeyer sugar cookie dough for a full punch card at one store. Our thrift stores have gotten so expensive that we haven't even been going. I don't understand why they do that when the store is so packed with stuff and nobody is buying.

Yes even though the trees aren't producing well I've ordered trees a few at a time. Hopefully soon they will get with it!
I'm jealous over your 99 cent thursdays! That would be a lot of fun!

That sounds like great deals - I was thinking of frozen french fries when we decided to have hot dogs last minute...if I just had some the meal would have been even better. I like that deal.
I want to go back to the Amish store soon and see what they have but really we are good for awhile. The weather needs to shape up too.
