Morning Reading time and Zucchini!

Yesterday, one of my friends said she gets up early like I do and does her house work then goes outside for bible reading and journaling.  So, totally envious, I thought I'm going to do that too.  I mean her outdoor reading nook just looked so inviting.  I could just imagine sitting there and having time to read without interruption.

So, I  got up and started cleaning the house.  Approximately two hours later I was totally exhausted and didn't feel like going outside to read.  I think I did it backwards, this morning I decided to do the reading first then the work!

I want to try and make my outdoor reading nook look and feel more inviting.   Things I want to do..move the bike, paint the two seater chair, and pull the weeds by the house!  I hope to add some more outdoor decor too.

The Garden:

Everything seems a little late in my garden this summer but finally I'm getting the Zucchini.  Boy, am I getting the zucchini.  This week I made enough bread to give the grand daughter some to take home with her and then I froze the rest.

Mock Apple Pie made with zucchini.  Okay, I couldn't make this picture look any better because I had a accident with the pie.   I put the pie on a cookie sheet to bake and then I let it cool there.  The pie pan stuck to the cookie sheet and I tried to unstick it with a butter knife.  Yeah,  I flipped it right over.  Husband said flip it back and we will still eat it.  You see, it smelled just like a apple pie and he didn't care what it looked like.

He actually loved it and couldn't believe it was zucchini.  So this recipe is a keeper for next year.
