My Frugal Ways this Past Week 10/29/22

My husband, granddaughter, and me went to a star gazing party put on by our local Nature Preserve (it was free).  This was the picture just before the sun went down.  We were able to view the moon from high powered lenses and were able to see all the craters.  Then we went on a Owl Prowl and saw the big wings of an owl fly up in the tree and kind of warn us (big humans go away). By then it was dark and we were able to point out the constellations.  Wonderful time and this is the only picture I got.  Memories will have to be in our head.

Granddaughter is now completely knocked out in bed.  She actually hasn't moved an inch since I last checked on her!

I just pulled the chocolate chips out of the freezer and stole a candy from our trick or treat bag so she can decorate her pancake this morning.   Wondering if she will eat any pancake!

Was given quite a few free egg cartons from a lady on Marketplace.  I in turn gave her a dozen free eggs.  Love it!

I canned apple pie jam this week.  Wonderful stuff.  Probably not good for you.  It has set on the counter just like this for quite awhile.  Need to move it today to the canning shelf!

How did you do saving money this past week?

Sounds like a lovely family time activity. I bet that was nice. Good learning experience as well.
Have a great weekend.

That picture of the tree tops is beautiful in all it’s autumn colors. How neat that you were able to see an owl! Apple pie jam sounds delicious. You’ll be enjoying the fruits of your labor when it’s cold this winter. 😊

Oh thanks Belinda, I deceided to make that Apple Pie jam after daughter went up north and paid $12 for a half pint jar of it. Homemade tastes better for sure.

That sounds like a great activity and one you can tuck away in your memories to enjoy over and over. I remember our grandson wanting strawberry jam on his waffle and then eating the jam with his finger. The pancakes may be the same! We go home from two weeks at the lake tomorrow and then it is back to reality!
