We have more apples this year! Here's hoping they make it to harvest! We also have many peaches! So exciting!
I called up the company I ordered my pear trees from and got a refund. They sent the sticks to me at the end of May and they still are just sticks toward the end of July. I believe they were dead on arrival. I watered dead trees LOL. I'll plant new pear trees that have branches next Spring. Calling companies is one of my worst jobs.
Speaking of jobs:
This week I had to help with husband's honey do list or l would have to live with everything like it was.. broken or a mess. If I wanted to get it done..I had to get with it. He is over run with do's. I glued the knob back for the bathroom medicine cabinet, I grabbed the grandson to help me knock down the old clothes line and dig up the concrete, and then we put old decaying firewood in leaf bags for the garbage man. Between me and the grandson we got it done. He is like a strong man already and he is so proud of being taller than grandma.
The reason why we got rid of the old clothesline was because it had ended up very close to the chicken coop run when we rearranged things last Spring in the backyard. I hung things up once or twice then decided that it would have to be relocated, if you know what I mean. We have a new to us clothesline waiting in the wings ready to be put up farther away from the coop. I'm thinking that grandson needs to come back over to help me again so I can start hanging clothes again soon.
Granddaughter and I harvested the garlic and some herbs. She wanted to know why we have herbs and I told her for flavor (really that's basically it for me). She gave me her basil she had grown from seed at her gardeners club at school to plant.
The herbs are hanging up to dry from my fruit basket. They are lavender, mint, sage, tyme, and rosemary. Sorry for the dark picture.
We found our low carb bread for $1.50 a loaf at the bakery outlet. We bought 10 loaves and put them in the freezer. This bread usually costs about $7.00.
I made fermented feed one day this week for the chickens. They seemed to love it. Most days I just give them food scraps.
I then found a book by Wanda, A Heartwarming Romance collection, just after this at a garage sale for $1.00! It's been a great book so far. I love the romance along with the Christian theme.
