Busy Week,,,, Fundraising Ideas and Apple Butter!

It's been a busy past week.  I made apple butter in the crockpot and canned it.   With all the spices, it smelled wonderful in the house.

The jars are all done and resting on my cabinet.  They have been there for days...today I'll label and put them on the shelf..I hope.

I have made million dollar fudge with the grandson and sold them for a fundraiser for his school trip to Washington D.C.   This along with the bottle drive has turned out to be great fundraisers for him.

We actually still have mustard greens as Fall has turned in to Winter with snow and freezing cold,  then back to Fall again. Yet, they have made it through it all and are still so good.  They are very hardy.

This is the same picture has before...they still have looked the same when the snow comes on them.  Ha ha!

How is it been going at your house?

Vickie, I'd love to make some crock pot apple butter and have a number of apples. Does it matter what kind? And would you mind sharing your recipe? Thank you. --Elise

We are doing well here, just trying to stay warm these days. The Million Dollar Fudge sounds like a great fundraiser! It would make nice Christmas gifts too. Apple Butter does make the whole house smell good, doesn't it? That will also make for some nice Christmas gifts.

Em, IT was so long since I made some I had to look it up. I found what I wanted here https://jamjarkitchen.com/2022/11/04/slow-cooker-apple-butter-for-canning/
Worked perfect and tasted great!

It is amazing how hardy some plants are.

Cheryl, I think those mustard greens are dead and they pop back up. It's kind of neat!

Our canning ends up on the kitchen table and with just two of us it sometimes is just too long before they get put away. I love the smell of apples cooking any time of year.
