Book Review: The Fragrance of Geraniums

                The Fragrance of Geraniums

The Fragrance of Geraniums by Alicia G. Ruggeri

The author Alicia Ruggeri tells a moving story about the trials of three women, Grace, Sarah, and Emmeline:

At sixteen, Grace finds thinks that growing up seems to be getting harder each day.  There is the choir that she would love to join, her depressed, pregnant Mother, her unbelievable Father, and that boy Paulie that follows her around.

Sarah, Grace's Mother, cannot believe this is happening to her.   The whole town is talking and it seems everyone knows.   Is there no hope?

Emmeline, faced with her own trails, trusts in a everlasting God to help ease her heartache.   She reaches out hep Grace and Sarah as the go through their life's journey.   Emmeline helps them to find the peace and joy that only God can give in the midst of a storm.

My thoughts:

I read this book in one night as I laughed, cried, and rejoiced.   As the author tells of the lives of these three woman she also lets the reader know how they can have a relationship with God and become who God wants them to be. She gives a message to never give up believing everything will turn out (maybe a bit different than you had pictured).

Emmeline was my favorite character in the book as she finds the courage to help people in need along the way.  This is the person I hope to be like when the world comes crushing down as it does sometimes.

This would be a great book for both older teenagers and adult readers.  I highly recommend this book and I hope to see more by this author soon!

I was given this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
