The sun rising this beautiful morning!
The sun rising this beautiful morning!

These last few days we have had beautiful weather here and we've been able to keep the heat off.  This month's energy bill was a hundred dollars less so I know I will be happy to see next month's bill!

We used the warm days to get started cleaning the yard.   We went to the city to get a burn permit which is free during the month of May.

Chicken coop in backyard

After we sold the chicken coop I transplanted some of the blackberry shoots that were located at the end of the run to another location.  We also planted some strawberry plants around them that we needed moved from the vegetable garden.

I chopped and froze the vegetables in the refrigerator before they got old and used them for Hamburger Stew.  Somehow, after I made it, I ended up the only one home and then it became a freezer meal!  We are having that today since we won't get to smoking the pork chops till after church.

I was able to hang out the laundry a few times this week.   It's funny how instead of having bad weather as an excuse, it's now because I'm too busy.   It will all even out soon.

I used my credit from Schoola and used it for me this time (a big thank you if you used my link) .  If you look under high school they have women's and men's sizes.  I bought a new to me jacket for next winter.  Then I received a email with a $10.00 credit for being a great customer and bought a blouse.  (you can still get $15.00 free for the first time customer with Schoola but right now shipping is not free).

We went to some great garage sales yesterday.   I was able to find shirts for me, coat for grandson (Land's End for $3.00), and a coat for my husband.  We also found many toys for both grandchildren.
This is our entertainment!   We love seeing what we can find.

What ways have you saved this week?
