Here are the ways  we helped our household and saved this past week:

The cold weather is setting in so we've took down air conditioners, gathered up the fans to store in the garage, and put the window back on the screen door (instead of the screen).   The fans are dirty and will not be cleaned till Spring.  As it always happens this time of year, we needed them right up till this cold snap.  It was like God said, now it's going to be cold!

It has rained everyday except Wednesday through most of Thursday.  It gave us a chance to pick a bushel of mustard greens.  I canned 7 more quarts giving us a total of 14 quarts.  I also picked all the pumpkins, whether they were green or not, so they wouldn't rot in the garden from so much rain.

I made Elderberry syrup for the first time.  I want to make sure I'm ready for the flu season and I've heard such great things about this. I'll see if it helps (I'm not a doctor this is just what I'm trying).  Have you tried this before?  I also went out last night and bought 20 cans of chicken noodle soup at Meijers for .59 a can (this will be on next week's grocery shopping trip) and yesterday I bought our Vernors pop (ginger ale type drink) that helps a lot during flu season for $1.49 a six pack.  I like to stock up like this so I'm not running to the store when someone gets sick and then paying full price.  Time and money saved!

We went for a ride and found a garage sale.  I was able to buy a pair of jeans, a pair of Capri's and a top for $5.00.  All fit!

I bought a housecoat for $5.00 after rewards and a coupon at JC Penny. Housecoats are a necessity for me when it gets colder.

We saved .20 off a gallon of gas last night.  With the price of Gas getting higher I made sure I filled out the Kroger survey.

I earned $13.00 from the fair.  Not much but I failed to put in for the bigger money departments.  Lesson learned but no matter what it was fun!

My goals for this Week:

I want to keep working on selling things I find this week.   I want to save for a trip to Ireland with some of my family.  A big goal and I'm not sure how long this will take but I'm going to work hard on it.

What are the ways you saved this week?
