When we put the freezer in the garage a long time ago it seemed like the logical choice. Without a basement there just wasn't another place for it to go. Sometimes though when it snows I just hate the thoughts of going out there. I mean I'm going out there in the frozen world to look for frozen food. Just so you know, I'm not a good hunter or an ice fisher woman.
Sorry just feeling sorry for myself. Thank the Lord he has blessed me with a freezer and food to fill it. Listen, that's just how fast we can go downhill in our thoughts I guess and we need to stay positive in this world we live in today. I have a great husband who is always reminding me of this. One day I said to him, "I'm just tired of your positivity." We both looked at each other and cracked up laughing!
So this morning I started off making the menu plan with everything that was in the fridg's freezer in the kitchen! Now for the rest of the week I had to get out of my PJ's, put on my warm pants, and go look in that garage. While I was out there and cold anyway, I took the extra canning jars and put the mail in the box. Three birds knocked out with one stone.
Monday Spaghetti with spaghetti squash noodles
Tuesday Sauerkraut with hotdogs and green beans
Wednesday Turkey (leftover from the last one I made), sweet potatoes, and leftover green beans
Thursday Steak and a Salad
Friday Low Carb Pizza
Saturday There are bound to be some leftovers of something they can eat!
Sunday Pork Chops (just fried down brown), Shuck beans (he has been asking for them)
I hope to make it through the week without eating out.
What's on your menu plan for this week?
Be sure to

Yikes! That is just too cold so I am your pity party! I don't like to go out to our attached garage with the freezer in it and we don't have snow.
Yesterday I just did not feel well so we tapped into those foods we keep on hand for those days and had frozen chicken breast fritters and FF and a salad.
Monday- Fettuccine Alfredo, salad
Tuesday-Sausage Potato soup, salad and bread
Wednesday-Goulash, sauteed zuchinni and salad
Thursday-out. I bought a Groupon for 2 buffets and two drinks for only $10.50 at a local place that has great food like meatloaf and chicken and dumplings on the buffet
Friday-leftover Goulash
Saturday we head for the lakehouse and it will depend on how cold the house is when we arrive. We may need to get something
out and let the house warm up.
Thanks for coming by my pity party Lana. Isn't funny the things we can go on about? Sorry you were not feeling well but I'm glad you were prepared. The lake house just sounds so nice right now (I love the name). Stay warm and enjoy!
It can be hard to remain positive all the time. It is something we all have to work at and also to be more grateful. I work on that constantly.
So true it's always a work in progress for me too! Have a great day!
Just looking at the photo makes me cold. Brrr..... Stay warm and safe. Have a blessed week dear friend.
I thought of you and your grandchildren today. I bought some chocolate bark (you melt it and dip stuff in it for a treat). I melted one square and I covered a half sliced banana and then dropped two cups of popped corn in the bowl to use the rest. I put all of it on trays and into the refrig. It is so good after the chocolate hardened. I am making this when my grandchildren arrive (hence thinking of you and yours). It is a fairly cheap snack and fun to make with the kids.
Ugh...I think I'd plan my menu from what's inside as well. Maybe try making one trip a week to the main freezer to bring a few things inside? I would so love to get a good snow. We haven't had one here in years even though we have temps below zero occasionally...lots of teens & twenties so it's cold enough.
I still do not plan a menu but I'll share what we actually ate going backwards! I'm thawing chicken for tomorrow but I don't know yet how we'll eat it & we may have fish on Wed.
Monday (today) - crockpot venison served with roasted California mix plus green beans & creamed cauliflower. I plan to try a new 90 second keto bread as well.
Sunday - Vegetable beef soup served with a small side salad, pork rinds & fathead dough rolls.
Saturday - Oven fried chicken legs served with a large salad
Friday - serve yourself (I took a meal to a family with a new baby then went to a play with a friend so we ate on our own when we had time & were hungry) I cooked eggs & I assume that's what dh did, it's what we both usually do.
Thursday - Valentine's Day - ribeye, mashed potatoes & side salad at home
Wednesday - smashburger salad
Tuesday - leftovers
Monday - meatloaf...I can't remember the sides...I think it was sauteed green beans, mushroom & onion & a small salad.
I've also been making a batch of grain free muffins at least once a week, sometimes twice. Husband's lunches are leftovers & I've started scrambling eggs at supper time for his breakfast. That way he can sleep to the last minute, grab them from the fridge & reheat them at our son's house at 5AM when he goes over to sit with the baby.
I can't say I understand but I still feel for you. I have a basement with it's own grocery store(lol) but I keep my freezer upstairs with only the foods I have planned for the week. And not because I'm that organized it's more because I'm lazy. I hate those steps.
Oh no...there is always something we dislike! I would love a basement. Not sure why this house didn't come with one. Have a great day!
I love looking at your beautiful pictures Melissa! They looks so warm. Have a blessed week too!
Oh you menu sounds delicious! Let me know how your keto bread turns out and what's a smashburger salad? I'm thinking I might need your muffin recipe too!
I hope someday soon you will get a snow. This snow was actually really pretty as it clung to the trees. Have a great day!
oh Peggy you know they would love that! I'll have to look for that chocolate bark right away! I bet your grandchildren adore you! Thanks for the idea!
That snow!!! Pretty, but I would not want to make a trip to the freezer through that either. I’m spoiled. No snow in the South where I am. No set menu for me when the hubby is on the road working. My menu plan always must include breakfast (my fav meal). Definitely eggs. Lately, it’s been Stuffed Egg Pizza. Or Bob’s Red Mill Rolled Oats. Dinners will consist of any of the following this week: leftover Lima beans, baked salmon, leftover Mexican food from restaurant, asparagus, yellow summer squash
We are just alike Angie..when my husband is gone I could survive on all the things he won't eat as much -tuna fish with boiled eggs, sloppy joes for the kids, etc. Stuffed egg pizza I'm going to look that one up.
