My Grocery Shopping Deal of the Week 11/23/19!

Nope my deal wasn't stew, it was roast!   I made roast yesterday then took the leftovers and made a hearty beef stew today.  I found my roast at Kroger for $2.99 a pound.  Funny, how you get things in your head like I did a roast.  It's just been in my mind lately and luckily it came on sale.  We bought three roasts and cooked one.  So two are out in the freezer.

A nice warm bowl of beef stew (and a nap) is just what we needed after raking leaves and going to estate sales these past two days.   Brr!

What great grocery shopping deal or deals did you get this week?

I have had stew on my mind with this cold weather, too. I have meat in the freezer so after Thanksgiving I think it will be on the menu.

Our best deal this week was 5 pound bags of unbleached Pillsbury flour for $1.20 each. We stocked up for the next year. We also how got Tyson boneless skinless chicken breast for $1.58 a pound which is not the best ever price but in my stock up range when we are running low.

Oh that looks delicious, Vickie. What a great price on the roast. It's been a long time since we had roast, but I'd considered it at that price. :)

What a deal on the flour Lana! I know I would stock up too for that price. I think that is an excellent price for the chicken too. Great deals!

Vickie roast anything over here in Australia cost a fortune at the moment but we are on the look out for a nice roast for cooking and having as supply of cold meat for the freezer for the hot summer we are in.

Well done on getting roast beef at such a good price :).

Here is what we managed to do this week as we are shopping ahead for Christmas in hopes of staying away from the madness until after the new year -

- On price reductions we purchased 6 pk grain jumbo bread rolls, 1 x 6pk jumbo wholemeal bread rolls, 3 x 6 pk wholemeal dinner bread rolls, a pepperoni pizza loaf and 12 pk of donuts saving $5.71 on usual prices.
- Ordered a gift card from RACQ for groceries saving 5% or $7.63 on usual prices.
- Did an online order for a fortnights worth of groceries and coupled a $15 off promotional code and weekly specials on our favourite sparkling grape juice to save $23.70 on usual prices.
- Purchased from IGA 2 x 200g of butter mushrooms on clearance for $2 total saving $4 on usual prices. They were fried with steak one night and used on a homemade pizza which will last us another 2 nights for dinner.

Have a great week ahead and hope everyone finds more bargains to stock their pantries with :).

I hope you find a deal like I did on roast. Last week I wanted one so bad but when I seen one for the total price for $25.00 I knew it wasn't for me. I'm glad it came on sale.
Great deals on your groceries Lorna especially the mushrooms -we love steak and mushrooms (we add fried onions too on a sub bun). So good. You have a great week too.
