Drought Buster!

The windows are open this morning and I can hear the birds singing.  It's starting out to be a beautiful day.  We had quite a rain yesterday with thunder and lightening.   I love thunderstorms, not tornadoes or floods mind you, just your everyday thunderstorm.  I'm not sure how much rain we received but it was enough that I won't worry about watering the garden for quite awhile.  My husband called it,"a drought buster."

We went shopping at Meijer this week and were excited to see pork chops for .99 lb!  We thought we would never see prices like these again.   They are assorted pork chops and the processing is a little off (they are cut really big).  We don't care in the least though.

Let me know if you found any deals grocery shopping or just tell me about how it's going in your neck of the woods.

Yeah! I'm so happy you got some rain. I agree...it is glorious. We have one more chance for rain early Sunday morning then this week we are going to be dancing near 100'. An hour south of me in Ft Smith they will hit 100'. I hope it stays down there.

Great find on the pork. It's funny how excited I get to find meat right now. But seriously...we have so much food in our house right now it's sometimes overwhelming. My freezer & fridge are full & my pantry isn't huge but it's full too. I don't want to let it get any lower than it already is.

What a blessing to have all that rain! We are seeing meat prices coming down here, too. We would not be concerned about mis-cuts either. Throw it on the grill and everything is good! We bought cube steak for $3.49 a pound yesterday which is a really good price here even before the virus.

Great meat prices Lana! You just can't beat them. Yep no one cares what they look like, the just eat them.

Oh that's love that you got some rain too. It's so nice and cool here now...hope it cooked down in your area too.

I hope we stayed cooled down here Jenny but the forecast looks like there will be more heat like you are having.
We don't find that great of a deal too much. In fact we had just decided that having pork might be a thing of the past. Haha. So glad we found some! I guess I can get excited too over meat.

We have the rain and storms coming late tonight and some tomorrow.
Great deal. It seems pork and chicken have both been pretty cheap around here for a few weeks. Can't beat the price.

Oh I'm so glad you got some rain! Yay for the drought buster.
Great deal on the pork chops! I haven't had pork chops in months.

Our Meijer's meat prices have been going down a bit also. And they have chicken again! At least for now. They hadn't had any since mid March till last week. We got a good soaking rain almost all day yesterday. Much needed since we had been missing most of the rain that had been falling in other parts of the state. Ann

We had cooked our last pork chops last week! I hope you find a sale soon!

I hope you get some good rain Cheryl! Loving those sale prices on meat too.

It's amazing to me what's available in different areas. Some have gotten meat extremely cheap for awhile.
Speaking of missing rain..you can go a street or two over and it will be dry as a bone here. I think everyone received some last night though. So glad you got a great rain!

Wow, what a great deal!

Meat prices here dropped a bit then rose again.

We had rain predicted many times and all we got was a sprinkle.

Just this afternoon we expected severe thunderstorms and heavy rain but it swung south and nary a drop fell here. No need to mow the lawn for sure.

I hope that those sprinkles become a good garden rain for you!
Our meat prices have done the same.
