The clouds rolled in and I thought there just might be a chance.  The  weatherman said no though but he was wrong.  It really rained last night.  Just a sprinkle mind you but we were so happy and it put a smile on everyone's face .  We need a lot more but within that sprinkle there was a glimmer of hope because we all had started to feel like it had forgotten how to rain.  Silly but true.

I don't think I can skip watering just yet but maybe soon we will get more.

Today it's going to get hotter yet.  It sounds like a perfect day for a subway.

How is it going in your area?

I'm glad to hear you finally got some rain, Vickie. We've had some here too. The night before last it came a gully washer. Keeps the dust down and I like that. :)

Oh I love that you got a gully washer. I bet it was so refreshing! Have a great day.

When you grow a garden you dream of rain. We had some good rain over the weekend two days in a row. Just short 10 to 20 minute bursts but enough that I could skip watering those days & one more. But the heat means I'm back to hooking up soaker hoses, setting up sprinklers & carrying buckets & buckets of water. If I water everything that has to be hand watered it takes 17 to 20 five gallon buckets carried one at a time from the faucet all the way around the house & yard. Yuck. Thankfully only some things have to be watered every single day.

I'm getting tomatoes. They are trickling in slowly & I won't have to buy any this week!

So glad you got some rain!
We had a brief shower too. Yay!

9th day of no rain. Things burning up left and right. Even the Amish are carrying water to their gardens.

I'm glad you had a brief shower too. We had another shower just now too Kathy! Now we need a cloud burst for about 30 minutes. No floods -just a good downpour (I'm giving specific instructions to God.

Man this can't be good. The corn is curling in the fields here. If we don't get measurable rain soon the farmers could be in heap of trouble.

That's a lot of work Jenny! It's exhausting watering that's for sure. I was watering from my rain barrel with a bucket but that went dry many days ago. Now I just use a watering can and hose.
Oh I'm so glad your getting tomatoes. I can just imagine the excitement and thinking how you will have them that day! I can't wait.

We had tremendous dark clouds and thunder, yet only a few minutes of a sprinkle. Hot and humid is getting old!

Still feels like 40C but we did have massive thunderstorm this afternoon - lots of lightening, high winds and tornado warnings! It lasted over an hour so all that water should have helped a bit - but - the sun is out again and temperatures are back up. We're supposed to get more storms this weekend so maybe that will help a bit. I'm about to melt!

We had a hard downpour this afternoon. Still very hot and humid. Takes my breath away. I am thankful for air conditioning. Have a blessed week! :-)

Your right this heat is getting old fast!

Oh I guess you got a little relief. Glad everything is alright Margie!
I hear all next week we are going to have this heat. I hope your forecast is better.
