This grandson of ours absorbs books, especially if they are Diary of a Wimpy Kid.  We actually pre-ordered the last one and the pages are turning really fast.  So, it must be really good.

He was so excited when we received a book yesterday from Elaine.  It was Diary of a Wimpy Kid School Planner.  He was reading and laughing at the Wimpy Kid sayings all the way through.  He loved it ..thanks so much Elaine!

Listen, we have had problems with this kid wanting to read anything else.  He actually said he would not read anything else but Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It's a requirement though that he reads for 20 minutes for school every day!  Gotcha.

Then,  someone suggested The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoggle.  I've not been able to find the comment but I want to thank you too.  These are great Christian books for his age and he will read them too. Wally gets into a lot of trouble and that's right up his alley.

I had such a hard time getting my boy to read. He hated it & only read what was absolutely required....he hated fiction. But he did learn to read.

He doesn't sit down & read books so much but he reads a lot about current events, science, sports, technology, ect He also does read books for his job, which I think is kind of cool. Both my son & my husband have jobs where they're required to spend so many hours a week on research & improvement....they're both skill trainers. So they have to track self-improvement & most of that is reading. That could be really fun or extremely boring to me!Thankfully, they both love the research & learning better ways to do things so it's a fun perk. ...and neither of them were readers as children.

Will he read the Sunday comics? That can count as reading too.

My husband really got into reading through Hot Rod Magazine. I am so glad your grandson liked the journal. As both a grandma and a retired teacher it makes me smile knowing it is being enjoyed!
