So, my daughter gave me one of her Hello Fresh meals that she knew that she would never have time to fix.  We've had experiences before with this sort of thing and we have not really liked the recipes.  She loves them though and she is a busy Mom, so they are great for her.

In our bag was chicken, dill, sour cream, new potatoes, and green beans.  Creamy Dill chicken, I believe was the name of it.  Husband said, just fry that chicken. So, I did.

I threw out the weird green beans to the chickens (they would not eat them).  I then used a quart of my home canned green beans and threw the new potatoes in with them.

Better than KFC husband said.

Daughter said we ruined it.

We tried the Hello Fresh one time because a friend sent me a free one. We were not crazy about it either. It's hard to describe, but I knew it wasn't for me.

That sounds exactly like something my husband would want. Kentucky Fried - a hardworking man's meal.

Too funny!
Thanks for the laugh!
I haven't tried hello fresh, but my family doesn't like "squeaky" green beans so I'm sure yours were better. I might have tried the creamy dill chicken though as long as there wasn't too much dill. Picky aren't I? :D

It's just different ...maybe it's for the younger than me crowd!

I am cracking up! Our youngest son and his wife get vegetarian meals from whoever is offering the best deal and I have not seen a thing we would eat either. Our KFC has gotten pretty bad since Covid. Why can't restaurants make good food anymore?

Yep he was working hard yesterday! They love that kind of meal don't they Jeannie?

Nope you could add as much dill as you like. Kind of nice how they package the fresh dill.
I think he just likes normal food and nothing fancy so someone else may think it's great!

Hilarious! I haven't tried any of these meal kits. I think my husband & I are deep into a menu rut & we're very happy in it - most of the time. Boy do I miss Italian & Mexican foods though!

I have another day off this week from babysitting. My poor daughter-in-law has really hurt her neck. I think it's too much typing in her job, too much cookie decorating after work then lifting a super heavy 3 yr old too much. She's a touch cookie & never complains.

The builders are coming by today to finalize our bid on our building. After seeing their numbers we've cut back quite a bit on what we're doing. It will be very, very basic. Then husband & I will add work stations inside by thrifting/make do.

Too funny! I think you did the right thing.
Infection rate is going up here with new Govt. announcements due this afternoon so I'm concentrating on restocking fresh items like dairy and fruit & veg - otherwise I'm fine and well stocked.

I believe we will have to do something very soon too. I remember in the Spring it was the fresh stuff I missed the most. That's the right thing to do Margie ..stay safe.

Lana there are just three restaurants Kfc, mcdonalds, and a bbq place that we can eat at. The others are not good to us anymore..quality of food out to eat has went way down. My sister says this about Hawaii good too.

Yes! I think we all just like what we eat..till we get bored I guess. Doesn't happen very often here.
Sorry about your dil ..I hope she takes it easy for awhile. She is very busy it sounds like.
I think just the price of lumber has skyrocketed..so much money to build anything.

Ha! Sounds like you did good. We've never tried any of those meals so it's interesting to me to read about it. Today we received a delivery from Sams-2 pds pecan halves (for rollo "turtles").I tell myself they are treats for mail lady, etc, but history shows I eat ALOT of them. And we got peanut butter, oatmeal, peanuts (my husband has his handful every night). We have been stocking up on stuff all summer and should be good for awhile. If we can't get out for awhile I'll miss fresh fruits and veggies, but I canned this summer and have bought fruit cups from Sams so we won't get scurvy! Have a good weekend-I appreciate you!

Ann I wish I was your mail lady, those treats sound delicious! Husband has to have peanuts too. What's with that?
Now that you say that about the fruit we always have apples and oranges around but my mind thinks I have to have a banana every morning. You know I'm just spoiled and if we couldn't get them I'll just have to eat something else.
I hope it doesn't get to that but..I watched the news and it may.
I appreciate you guys so much.
