We started eating out a little more last week when the main part of the work was done.  I think we ate out at least 3 times (take out).  Our problem was how do you fix dinner and eat when there is a person in the house fixing your stuff?  One day I offered him chili and he said no thank you.  I think he just wants to concentrate on the work at hand and really chili probably wasn't the best thing to offer him. 😆

So anyway, he is gone now for a little while so I now feel free to fix a dinner but I'm wiped out today.  We did have steak, cheese,  and onion sub sandwiches yesterday.  It was so easy to make.  I've decided today will be sub sandwiches with deli meat that we have.  Maybe a bowl of soup and tada I fixed dinner.  The kids will have mac and cheese with pb&J sandwiches.  Whoo hoo.  I've learned that not every dinner has to be gourmet feast.

Oh guess what, our fireplace stuff is in Saginaw. Whoohoo,it's in Michigan!  I have high hopes it will be here tomorrow! Maybe when he comes back I could entice him with my cinnamon rolls or something.

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

I have a contractor friend who says no to food offered by customers always. She said that while most people she wouldn't mind eating what they fix but there are always a few that you wouldn't touch food fixed in their house if you were starving. So for her it is always no just in case word would get back to a customer that she had said no to their food. Ann

You know that makes perfect sense. Thanks Ann for telling me!

You're right, Vickie. Not every meal has to be a gourmet feast. It's nice to take it easy from time to time and make a simple dinner.

I know you will be glad to have your house back. Yay on the fireplace stone!
My meals have been so uninspired lately. I fixed pork bbq on a bun on monday, teriyaki sandwiches last night, and tonight is going to be red bag aldi chicken. :D
We haven't had any workers since covid, but several years ago when we had the new roof put on and it was 100 degrees out, I put some drinks and watermelon in a cooler for them. A few years ago, I offered the guys putting in the new heat pump water and cokes, and the use of the downstairs bathroom. I think they appreciated the bathroom offer more than anything. ;)

Yep just so everyone is satisfied that's the important thing. It did seem like we smacked more today so I'll make better meal today.

All of that sounds like a great menu to me. I'll take that! good ideas for feeding the workers. I bet that watermelon tasted so good on that hot day! You know he did love our coffee so that's something.
