Gingerbread Men or Molasses Cookies

I had fun the other day making some Gingerbread men for the grandkids. It seems like it's not Christmas until I get these cookies made.

You guys don't pay attention to my sloppy decorating because no one does here, they just gobble them up without looking!  Thank goodness!

These cookies are wonderfully soft and just a little spicy.  Fun to make especially on a cold snowy winter's day!

If you can find molasses like this I think it is the key to make a great cookie.

Gingerbread Men or Molasses Cookies

Ingredients:

4 1/2 cups of flour for Gingerbread men or (3 1/2 cups for drop Molasses cookies)

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp ginger

1/2 cup butter (1 stick)

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 cup molasses

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Sift dry ingredients together.  Then cream sugar and butter together.  Beat in both the eggs and molasses.  Slowly add flour mixture until blended.

Roll out on floured service and cut out with gingerbread man cookie cutter.

**To make a drop molasses cookie add 1 cup less of flour and drop by tsp onto cookie sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or less.  Watch closely.
